Hi Ashick,
We ship via USPS PRIORITY MAIL INSURED (not UPS or FEDEX Ground). Priority Mail Flat Rate Box starts at $5.25 per package to ship plus insurance and overhead. We are not making any money on shipping. With Priority Mail our customers receive their product(s) typically in 1-2 business days after the order is placed v.s. 5-7 business days after they buy. We think that is a value added service for going with Priority Mail. The $7.95 is a FLAT RATE shipping charge no matter how much you buy so the more you buy the more economical it is. Occasionally we will have a FREE SHIPPING code. |

Thinking about buying one of these but I had a quick question: Why would I want one side of an ambidextrous safety to be shorter than the other? It seems the standard kit is standard on one side and short on the other and Im wondering why one might want that instead of standard length on both sides.

Lever choice is a personal preference. I like the standard on the thumb side (as do most users), it's the trigger finger side lever that is subject to a great deal more personal preference.
With a 90 degree arrangement, it's next to impossible to have a weak side lever to have as much leverage as the standard lever and yet stay out of the way of the trigger finger. So pretty much all weak side levers are compromises, with blended characteristics of providing enough leverage for the user to rotate, and remain as unobtrusive as possible. With the short lever, safety on FIRE, the tip of the short lever will come in contact with the top of the trigger finger. This doesn't have be a bad thing, it serves to provide tactile feedback to the user as tot he condition of the selector (if the trigger finger can feel it, it's on FIRE) With the thin lever, safety on FIRE, the lever is below the user's trigger finger, it is less obtrusive than a short lever. Some users reported they had issues operating the thin lever while wearing gloves. I do not dismiss their feedback, though speaking for myself, I don't have problems using the thin lever while wearing gloves, and I always wear gloves while shooting. The short-thin lever is a good substitute for the end cap. It is tiny so it's out of the way more than any lever, but because of its diminutive size, it's hard to get to and use. It's still a far sight better than having no lever at all on the weak side if it only has an end cap on it. The crank lever is surprisingly popular, so is the hybrid, though neither is my personal favorite. Our lever consumption and sales numbers indicated that standard and short levers are the most popular. Indeed, practically all OEM units are shipped that way, I think this lever combination will serve you well too Roger at Battle Arms Development
