Wes, did you guys ever get to work on an XDM yet? I have some aftermarket sights I want to throw on and figured getting slide work done would be the best time. Let me know, I'm really close by!

I've got a gen 3 17 slide I want to have front serrations cut into the frame as well as making the back cuts a little more aggressive i also want a rmr cut out. I also would like to have it cerakoted in gray or a fde color. Can you let me know the cost and turnaround time in this. I have my own sights that will need to be installed on this as well. Thanks

Wes did the slide cuts for me on my G17 and my G22. The cuts look great and you won't find a better deal anywhere. Wes and the guys he works with do great work but just know that if you make the cuts, it "may" affect the gun's performance. For my G17 before the slide cuts, the gun worked flawlessly. And after the cuts, I kept getting stovepipe malfunctions like 1-2 malfunctions per magazine. I ended up having to switch out the recoil spring and now it works great. I say "may" because for some reason the cuts did not affect my G22. Guess it just depends on your gun. I don't think the problem was due to anything wrong that Wes did but just wanted others to know.

Again, the slide cuts look great and everyone keeps asking if they were done by Taran Tactical or Salient Arms

Hopefully these guys got their act together. They disappeared from the orange location quite quickly and their location is empty.

I just dropped off my Glock 17 RTF2 slide I had FS defense do work on awhile back (quite unhappy with the whole transaction) to OC Custom Coatings (who has a big following and is very reputable shop) yesterday due to all the coating just flaking away while not even being used.

He wiped it with acetone and said cerakote won't be affected by wiping it with that and the coating completely stripped. And then he used the same stuff on his personal carry gun and it didn't leave a single paint mark on the rag...He said they either didn't use cerakote on my slide, or they completely didn't even prep the slide at all and thats why its so shotty and weird looking and pointed out that there was tape marks where they masked off the slide and only coated the slide cuts. Thats why my slide is all funky with half factory coating and half other coating all splotchy on the parts that were cut. It should've been completely stripped, prepped and sprayed correct which wasn't and corners were cut due to laziness or someone just didn't give a F.

So its been costing me all this extra money with new sights, sight removal and install, having someone else fix it correctly and the down time not having my gun for a couple weeks..

Anymore 1911 slide cuts? I'm putting together a 2011 and need to give my unique slide some character. Thanks!
