I'm all for Anaheim (A tad biased).

But there are some good places in Burbank and I know of one I like in LB (555 on Oceanside).

Long Beach would be really good, I'm sure some TMLLP folks will stop by if it's close.

There is always one of the many Gun Club Houses. Inlands even has a working kitchen and may be an easier drive for the San Diego area.

Guys, this couldn't be LESS 'off-topic' how about a move to 2a or "current legal cases" subforum?

I would venture to bet that many more people actually read the Off Topic forum than the 2nd Amendment forums.

Okay, it looks like there is some interest...

Sorry about dropping the ball on this, I was out of action with the flu for the last week.

We have three airports that can work for our Northern friends, Burbank, Long Beach and Orange County.

Orange County (John Wayne) Airport has JT Schmid’s about 15 miles away, roughly 25-45 minutes depending on traffic. It looks very nice and has hosted NRA events before. Price range looks to be a bit in the upper range, think $60+ per person based on menu.

Long Beach Airport is fairly central, I'm not familiar with the Long Beach area and haven't seen too much in the 'suggested restaurant' dept. so I'm not sure what's around there. Any LB locals have suggestions and info?

Burbank (Bob Hope) Airport has Sportsman's Lodge about 8 miles away, roughly 15- 25 minutes depending on traffic. It also looks nice and hosts parties and events and has a hotel right on site. Price range is moderate, think $25-$45 per person.

Remember we will potentially have people coming in from as far away as San Diego and Santa Barbara and further north.

Hopefully we'll get some input from the Long Beach Calgunners so we can have a full set of options to choose from.

My vote goes to Burbank. It's in a great location for me, but also the airport is really easy to navigate to and from. Plus, anyone who would rather take the train can get on Amtrak to the Burbank airport (drops off half a kilometer away).

Burbank is very travel friendly (flown into there many times) and Sportsmen's Lodge is a great location for a gathering with semi-private dinning rooms. Bring your fishing license and poll (there is a fish pond [meaning there is a pond with fish not a pond with fish to fish] with romantic bridges to walk over with your wife/gf or conquest from the bar - lots of weddings held there = drunk bridesmaids) and use the exemption to 12025 too!.

So far we have two people voicing an opinion favoring Burbank.
I'm going to throw my voice in to the Burbank/Sportsman's Lodge choir as well, heck, Angeles Shooting Range and Burbank Firing Line are even close for those who want to shoot earlier in the day!
If you don't voice an opinion we're going to decide without you!

Sorry, carnivore, can't do organic stuff.

Something has to die in a loud and grotesque fashion in order for me to enjoy my dinner.

Meat can be raised organically, can't it?

Anyhow, Sportsman's Lodge (or whatever it's called) sounds dandy.

Sportsman's Lodge - that would be perfect. If I recall, the NRA had a big meeting there not too long ago (this past summer?) and Ted Nugent was the honored guest. By the way, it's in North Hollywood - not Burbank.

It's two or three good hours drive from San Diego to Burbank. It's only 1 1/2 hours drive to Orange county or Rancho the Koo koo Monga

True, but it is 2.5 to 3.5 hours drive from Ventura/Santa Barbara or Palmdale/Lancaster to OC or RC.
The trick is finding the balance point.
