Gah those were the tightest taper pins I ever seen. I have removed 2 or 3 other FSB before and those took me just a few swings with a hammer. This one (Del-Ton barrel) took a hammer, punch, dremel with sanding drum and drill. The first pin came out with a little sanding and lots of hammering. The second one I drilled out.

Magpul's CTR FDE doesn't quite match up perfectly with Mega's anodized FDE receivers but it really doesn't bother me. I am thinking of either a new black pistol grip or a FDE one (probably an MOE). I have MI 2 piece FF HGs duracoated Magpul FDE but I am still missing the ejection port cover asmbly., gas block, tube, and sights.

Colt M4 w/ latest M68. Swapped out our FN M16 A4's for this latest rotation. OK... it's walking a thin line for the topic, but wanted to show that we do get new stuff for deployments.

Default Monsterman build

Thanks for the pic! That looks awesome! I am building a similar Monsterman build for my twelve year old son as he wants to use my preban 30 rounders. Do you know what the weight is on that bad boy?

Its just the cheap brake they have at Cold War Shooters for like $10. I'm not a big fan of it, you can really feel the pressure wave when you are next to it, even when shooting. Even more so at indoor ranges.

My $350 build. Gotta love spare parts. Picked up some misc. parts today at the gun show, got the receiver at cost, the rest of the parts I've acquired over the past year of so. It has an A1 stock and hand guards because I prefer the ergonomics of these better than the current issue ones. Yeah it has no muzzle brake but the barrel was a free unfired Colt so no biggie. Gonna put a Matech on it and an ACOG in the future.

Here are my two new M-4's...

Sorry about the quality. I will post new ones when i get my hands on a good digital camera.

They both have-

CMMG Lowers
DPMS Lower parts kits
One has the Stag 2HT with the quad rails upper receiver and the other one just has the standard Stag complete upper.

They both have the MAGPUL CTR adjustable butt stocks.

The Quad rail is my baby and is still a work in progress. Like I said I will update when I get a different camera and new toys on the 2HT.

Sorry for the terrible pics, AR15 is almost finished. She is just missing sights/optics, muzzle attachment and an ejection port cover assembly. The pictures really don't do the rifles justice.

I'm glad to see someone is carrying on the tradition of dummy wiring/cording gear onto the weapons. I still do the exact thing with safety wire on my rifle.

Are you attached or belong to the Washington Guard? I worked with a medic and bravo when subsequently attached to a 1Cav. Great guys. We used to call that patch the "chicken wing." (doesn't look like any raven to me)

Anyhow, good luck with your deployment. I know my buddies were just recently at Yakima for mob training. God speed!

On a side note, I hated attaching stuff to my IBA. If you want to reduce weight on the IBA and allow super fast mobility, I'm sure you know of the stuff by Logan Coffey of Tactical Tailor, like the MAV vest and etc. A lot of types run around with their gear and everything is customizable. Best $$$ I ever spent on for a deployment.

Well, I've lurked around this thread long enough. I guess I'll post a pic of my featureless build. My 9mm got separation anxiety, so I had to put it in there too

Does your MMG rifle has a Bullet button? MMG and a collapsible stock is NOT a legal configuration without a maglock. Also, is that a flash hider you got in there? Be careful....

Could be a muzzlebrake....hard to tell from that angle.

The stock could also be pinned so its not adjustable..... Asking for more looks though....not as cut and dry as I like my featureless build... but its someone elses.

Like the 9 though

You can bet, Iggy and the like would argue that the gap between the buffer tube and the MMG grip is a thumb hole.

Iggy told me that the U-15 was a pistol grip so.........

I would only run a MMG with a A1orA2 but thats just me. Seen lots of people running them with ACE stocks. They are the ones that have to explain it to the LEO.

Non collapsible stock. It's not a thumbhole stock either. DOJ Definition of a thumbhole stock is -
Quote:
"thumbhole stock" means a stock with a hole that allows the thumb of the trigger hand to penetrate into or through the stock while firing"
There is no hole, and the grip is not part of the stock.
As for the muzzle brake,

I've seen these sold at Ade's(MMG and pinned CAR stock). I was a little sceptical at first too, until I read up on the definition.

eta* With the exception of the mag, and the lpk... every part on this gun was purchased from calguns members I know it has nothing to do with the topic, but it just dawned on me, and I thought I'd share it with you all.

Well, I went to see Mike (from CSGW) planning to buy the surefire m910a, but he said he liked these better, and, after a quick comparison test, I left with this. Considering it uses a lot of the same materials as the surefire and the fact that the AR platform has very little recoil. I don't think I'll have any problems. I'm going to try it out this morning so we'll see...

I haven't weighed it. It looks heavy, but it's still maneuverable (and those lights give me great night maneuverability).

It is the correct color. It's LaRue's new color scheme called UDE (Urban Dark Earth), as it's closer to the tan on the Army's ACU uniform. Basically a cross between FDE and Foliage Green.

Thanks for the comments! The rifle actually looks waaaay better in person

I have seen the UDE in photos but it always seemed darker in the pics, if it is that shade you have thats a really nice color, espically since everything is the same shade. Ive seen rifles with different shades of the same color and it just doesnt look right. Great choice on the color and setup.

Nice NiteQuil, I was going to comment on the color also. Then that is Duracoat? Sticks to plastic as good as it sticks to metal?
