You should start advertising that this:
1. Has no effect on CCW permits in any state.
2. Does not make anyone a police officer. It makes them a very, VERY limited officer who has more or less no arrest power (beyond that of what a normal citizen does).

This is more cut and dry. Explaining the one situation in which you can arrest that the exemption comes from isn't worth the effort lol.

Really? I don't think that is true haha even if you have a CCW. Just a reminder...

Can you have an AK/AR without a mag-lock?
Can you move to any county and still retain your CCW?
Can you buy a Kel-Tec? LCP? Gen 4 Glock? XDM? etc etc
Can you have any pistol you want?
Can you buy NFA items (SBR/SBS/Suppressors/MG)?
Can you buy a gun and walk out with it the same day?
Can you sell a gun private party without paying an FFL?
Can you not register your handguns and not have to pay the DOJ for it?
Can you open carry in the state of California loaded (outside a non-incorporated area with 200k or less residents)?
Can you open carry in the state of California unloaded (without being harassed or at a minimum "(e) checked")?

Also, check your CCW paperwork, a lot of sheriffs add "no bars" to the application you sign or print it on the actual CCW. While not illegal, if you get caught your CCW will get pulled.

Just a little perspective...we have it pretty bad here haha.

Or "standard" magazines that holds more than 10 rounds?
(Or even a not so standard ones like 20 round 12-gauge drum for Saiga-12?)
Or buy more than 1 handgun in one day? (Let alone within 30 days?)
Or buy a handgun without getting tested (HSC or handgun safety certificate)?
Or buy a gun without leaving a fingerprint?

Probably be some kind of standard photo/hologram setup with mag strip...

May incorporate the MT state seal...

but as for specifics I have no idea... we're at least a year and a half away from that point

Wrong. Nothing in state law prevents California CCW holders from carrying in bars or restaurants that serve open liquor.

Like I said, your issuing authority may have a policy to revoke permits if you are caught carrying in one though, but you won't be charged with anything. Not all issuing authorities have said policy.

Ajax,

I thought I remember reading in the original thread that donations before Tax-Exempt status could not be deductible retroactively, Did I read it wrong?

It should be retroactivly made tax exempt, as we filed well in advance of the 27th month of our formation.

Quote:
Are contributions to an organization deductible while the organization's application for exemption is pending?

Contributors to the organization do not have advance assurance of deductibility while the organization's application is pending. If the organization ultimately qualifies for exemption for the period in which the contribution is made, the contribution will be tax deductible by the donor. Alternatively, if the organization ultimately does not qualify for exemption, then the contribution will not be tax deductible.

To be exempt under section 501(c)(3), most organizations must file Form 1023 by the end of the 27th month after they were created. If an organization does so, and the application is approved, charitable contributions to it will be deductible back to the date of formation.

Hi Ajax, I'm wondering if there's any news on this. With the current status of the court cases (looking iffy), a project such as this one may be the only path to CCW for us in California, and in NY. With the loss in Kachalsky, the only way New Yorkers can ever get CCW will be through either a Supreme Court case (I'm not confident in this) or through a HR218 type approach. California still has a shot with our 9th Circuit cases, but again, I'm not that confident. Our only fallback may be HR218, making the CCWForAll project vitally important.

Any updates would be appreciated!

Any updates? This necro-thread is being revived because this idea needs to be revived.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

If we lose Peruta at SCOTUS (or we lose at CA9 and SCOTUS denies cert.), this option becomes VERY important for those of us in the "last holdout" counties in CA (14 out 58), since we're unlikely to get a pro-CCW sheriffs and we're highly unlikely to win Shall Issue in Sac in the foreseeable future.
