Default Ques. on C&R license and Bound Book

I bought a C&R rifle (private sale) here in CA. Since I did not have to give the seller a copy of my FFL03 (it was a FTF transfer in State), do I have to enter this rifle into my Bound Book?

One other question:

I am going to visit relatives out of State. I will probably be looking at C&R long guns. Does my FFL03 entitle me to make C&R purchases out of State, like at a gun show or pawn shop?

Thank you.

If you have your license you have to use your book, you are licensed. You are not choosing to use your license or not, this is listed in the information you should have recieved in the welcome packet. If you got it that is.

Yes you can purchase out of state, take copies of your license and your book with you so you can leave a copy of the license if needed and you can enter the purchase into your book with in 24 hours as per the license requirement.

Have fun and happy buying.

The bound book should stay at your licensed premises. You can wait until you get home with the firearm to log it.

Yes, you still have to enter it in your book.
