'nother CZ75 P01 - love this gun.
Just to see if I could get it to jam/missfire, I fed it a cocktail of 9mm rds in the same mag. Including some Corbons, Magsafe 62gn, FMJ's, it ate 'em all with no complaint. Love this gun.
And here's a CZ clone I'll sneak in too - by the way my 15rd Baby Eagle mags will fit in my P01, they do extend approx 1/2" from the butt but, they fit & function.

Default Who else has a CZ100?

Here's my recently acquired CZ100 (9mm) that I got off another Calgunner. Was wanting one for a long time and got it for a great price! .

I've posted mine before, but thought I'd put the stock grips back on and shoot a couple more snap shots to help me sell it. As much as I love the P-01, I love the SP-01 Tactical even more! These are great guns....Monsterface

I have a CZ75b I bought new last year and have only put about 50 rounds through it. I was thinking of selling it, but might keep it a little longer and see if it grows on me.

I am in So-Cal SGV area and am looking for a CZ-52 handgun - I do have a C&R, so I may have to go shopping in Arizona, but that is a lot of gasoline. Anyone?

They are factory 10rd mags, from CZ. And even though the 19rd mags would hang out I wouldnt care a bit just to have them.

OK, so I am trying to make sure I understand this. The difference between the CZ 75 and the Sp-01 is weight (with the Sp being heavier) A rail on the SP, the SP comes with night sights, you can get the SP with a safety or with a decocker and I am not sure what else. Basically the SP is a better, more accessorized version of the 75. Is that correct?

I Also have another question, I know the Phantom isnt on the approved list, and you can get them through ppt if say a cop friend of mine gets it and I buy it off him, but from what I read, it is 33% lighter but also has less recoil? how is that possible? is that a proven thing or just someones opinion? I really prefer the Phantom because its cheaper, and honestly less people should have them here in CA.

Any thoughts or info on these questions would be greatly appreciated.

From OCJackel,

Quote:
The difference between the CZ 75 and the Sp-01 is weight (with the Sp being heavier)
Weight is one difference but not the only one. The SP-01 has a slightly different grip angle to it, the checkering on the grip is different, extended beavertail, etc. These differences are described on the CZ website.

Quote:

You can also get the 75B with night sites. "better" is debateable. If you want a gun with a rail on it than this is better than a gun without a rail and duct tape. I've borrowed what is below from the CZUSA website where you can read more...

Quote:
The CZ 75 SP-01 is the first full size handgun (4.72” bbl) from CZ to feature the improved manufacturing technology and ergonomics of the NATO approved CZ 75 Compact P-01 model. Featuring an integral 1913 accessory rail on the dust cover, rubber grip panels, and CZ’s corrosion resistant black polycoat fi nish, the SP-01 is the newest model to join the family of pistols based on the CZ 75 (SA/DA) platform. Borrowing from the improved grip geometry of the CZ 75 Compact P-01, the SP-01 utilizes an extended beavertail to protect shooter’s strong hand as well as allowing for a deeper and more secure grip. The new grip geometry with checkering in key areas on the front and back straps combined with the redistribution of mass provided by the accessory rail noticeably decreases the perceived recoil from previous models and allows for more rapid target acquisition and transitions.
ON the Phantom;

Quote:
but from what I read, it is 33% lighter but also has less recoil? how is that possible? is that a proven thing or just someones opinion?
Quote:
The Phantom is a full 33% lighter than the steel framed models making it ideal for all day carry.

Retaining the superior grip geometry of the SP-01, the Phantom has less perceived recoil than models of similar weight and power, and is unmatched in its natural point of aim.
33% less weight than the steel guns of its size. The model has less perceived recoil...meaning that this is someones perception, how they see it, their opinion. It likely does have less felt recoil than some other polymer guns though. To a good many shooters their is less felt recoil from polymer guns rather than steel. This is usually due to the flex of the polymer bodies during shooting. The bit about it being "unmatched" in it's pointability. This is marketing hype.

Yep you can get the phantom PPT. 10 round mags. Then you can see if your perception matches the hype.

ok, thanks for the clear up... Not sure if I can get the phantom since it would be a pain to do... I may have to just go for the regular SP01.

TDS in Rocklin gets them in all the time.... they currently only have a RAMI and a SP-01. TDS isn't cheap, but they have a nice store, good good selection, and some nice folks working there:
