All of these S&W handguns are UNSAFE. People should stop shooting them IMMEDIATELY for their own safety and dispose of them as soon as possible.

Fortunately, as a special service to CalGuns, I will be happy to assist with this disposal, totally free of charge to any Calgunners. Remember, this is for your own safety....

Those 3xx models...wouldn't those hurt to practice with if you're using the magnum cartridges? Or do you tend to use the Special cartridges in those?

I really like S&W N-frames. I bought the Mountain Gun in 1996 and the three magnums in 1997.

Model 29-2 .44 magnum (1968)

Model 57 no dash .41 magnum (1964)

Model 27-2 .357 magnum (1973)

Model 625-6 Mountain Gun .45 Colt

Sweet looking revolvers, no question. And in all-steel revolvers such as yours, I do as you do. One of my favorite cartridges is indeed the .357M.

I was wondering about the 3xx-series scandium-frame ones, since they're so light-weight, that the .44 Magnum and 10mm cartridges might be a bit too snappy for comfortable target practice, somewhat like the J-frame Airweights when shooting .357M (those do sting some). Those who do shoot those, like the ones shown in an above post...any feedback on this? Also, has the "Clinton lock" caused any problems with the 3xx-series?

Hey Cowboy,

The 3xx were designed for self-defense again man/beast in close quarters. They are not fun to shoot for prolonged periods.

No the Internal lock hasn’t been an issue.

My personal two favorite flavors of Smith’s, not everyone likes only one flavor. ;-)

Thank you to Raptor Engineering for this awesome low profile RMR mount, I pray you and yours are well after this disastrous year, and your business recovers.
