C&R Application Status Update - Got it today 7/17/13!! 28 Days Door-to-Door.
Sent Forms: 6/19/13
CC Charged: 6/27/13 Wife asks "why do you "need" a C&R license?" I asked, "how many pairs of black pants do you have?" Shut down that conversation right quick. Delivered: 7/17/13 Not too bad!!! Last edited by North86; 07-17-2013 at 8:08 PM.. |

Should've asked about shoes too
I asked this in the stickied thread, but if the average wait is 3mos, is it going to be worth me doing it if I'm only going to be able to use it for 2mos (before the law change)? |

It's really a simple application, and the $30 will be covered on the savings versus going through a shop on your first purchase. Plus, you will still be able to get the small discount at some online retailers, you'll still be able to buy cash and carry out of state, and you'll still be able to order C&R pistols that are off roster (through an 01). It gives you the option to later decide if a COE is worth it, too. The new law hurts, but the 03 is still worthwhile. |

My ex always complained about my guns saying "why do you need so many when you can only shoot one at a time"? I asked her why she needed so many bras when she can only put her boobs in one at a time. Did I mention she is my ex?

That was the wrong answer OP. The correct answer is "So I can save money".
The 03 FFL is still good and usefull after 2014. You get better prices at lots of places on all different types of items. The first time I used mine was to order a McMillan stock and saved about $100. If I never buy another C&R firearm I will keep mine for what I save on other stuff.

The average wait from sending the application to receiving the license is 3 weeks recently. It was exactly 10 days from cashing in the application fee to receiving the FFL by mail. You should be getting the letter by the begining of next week (7/8 - 7/9).

Wish I had been that lucky. I mailed my app in mid August and got it in late December. That was two years ago.

Nope, that's on par with everyone else. I mailed mine on election day in November and they charged my card four days later. I got my license January 15th.

Seems people get lucky when everything gets processed quickly. I hope to get one soon.
