Investor's Business Daily - May 1, 2018

https://www.investors.com/politics/e...-poll-economy/

Quote:
A new poll shows that the millennial generation has suddenly soured on Democrats just before the Blue Wave was supposed to crash over Republicans in Congress. There's a good reason for their change of heart.
The latest Reuters/Ipsos poll of 16,000 millennials found that support for Democrats among this generation dropped to 46% — a nine-point plunge from 55% just two years ago.
Quote:
... a funny thing happened over the past two years. The millennial generation started growing up.

They are getting married, buying homes and starting families in increasing numbers. And as a result, they're starting to realize that the liberalism they espoused as youths comes at too high a price in adulthood.

I totally get it. Travis is the guy we want. But unless you vote for cox you’ll be voting for Newsom.
Waste your vote if you want to. I’ll use my brain instead of my heart.

I'm looking at this from a purely clinical analysis rather than an emotional approach.

There are many single issue voters. These voters know who they are going to vote for based on a single issue relevant to their own situation.
  • Gay Marriage
  • Gun Control
  • Immigration
  • Racism in Law Enforcement
  • Free Healthcare/Education/University
  • Etc.

Then there are party line voters. They will vote for their own party no matter what. If they vote Democrat, that's it. They're voting Democrat.
  • Democrat
  • Republican
  • Other

Then there are the people that smear campaigns are designed to influence.
  • I won't vote for Gavin because he's a cheater!
  • I won't vote for Antonio because he's a cheater!
  • I won't vote for Trump because he's racist!
  • I won't vote for Hillary because she's corrupt!

Which leaves us to the last group. People that vote purely based on name recognition and physical attractiveness. Based on that, who do you think is more likely to win against Gavin Newsome?

I'm no longer a resident of the PRK so no vote there.

I'll need to see if he has pointy elbows before I can properly make that call

Even if he got 100% of the Republicans in this state he loses. The argument isn't how much Calguns likes Travis, but rather how much of the Middle must like Travis to take him past Newsom. Math is impartial to politics.

You mean like how Schwarzenegger got 100% of the republic vote and lost?

And you think nothing about Gavin will cause him to lose any vote from the left? Hm. He must have a spotless moral history.

So, you're betting everything on Newsom losing enough votes? Kinda "eggs in one basket" if you ask me.

Vote your heart. Polls are just ... polls. It ain't over 'til it's over.

I am not asking what you or any other specific person is voting. That is why I set it up as an anonymous poll. No one including myself can see who chose what in the poll. If people actually post the name, that is their choice.
This is to get an Idea where the support from conservatives like us are learning and help people like me make the best choice on where to put my own vote. I do not want to vote A and waste a vote when 80% of voters are going B, I would rather get behind the guy with the most momentum and do my part to help possibly push that person to a victory. And this poll here I bet is more accurate than a poll put out by people looking for a specific result before even taking the poll.

I’ve been trolling the John Cox Facebook ads and finally got my comments deleted and blocked from posting since I was calling him out on the many lies that a fellow cal gunner had provided. Reached out to people on the post still and got one person to support Allen now. That’s a win to me!

Thanks. The rest of the ballot I filled out for pro-gunners, But I appreciate your comment.

I guess in your eyes, I should prioritize owning a gun rather than having the job to pay for said gun.

I always try to balance it out, Because I'm a huge 2A supporter, But I don't want to make any less than $30 an hour, No Thanks.

I'm still torn between Wagner & Mango. All I ever see outside da' 'BURGH are Mango signs, and I see nothing but his signs in gunshops, so I'm leaning Mango.

The Free S*** Army will be the death of all of us. Perhaps make your skilled labor worth more instead of using lobbying force to raise your wages. Unions are basically societal cancer

Might as well turns yours in now... I’m a union worker too and I hate unions, too much power and ours doesn’t care about us because we are a tiny group in the evil SEIU

You should just turn in your guns now. This is why gun owners in this state never had a chance.

But seriously, Newsom will win. A Republican has zero chance of winning the governorship in California. Zero.

But I bet you like the wages and the benefits? You're what's called a hitchhiker, But I'm sure you already knew that.

As far as everyone mentioning I should turn my guns in, I shall never do that. My collection will get bigger and bigger, I don't care what the government says about it.

I do appreciate however, the friendly responses in comparison to Bigtwin's response calling me a "piece of ish" just because I don't agree 100% with his agenda/opinion.

Everyone has different goals, We can't all agree on the same thing, Doesn't mean you need to be disrespectful towards others because of that. If you're neighbor is anti-gun, you're not going to kill them, are you? So why get angry? You do you and move on.

Gay Davis killed California with the requirement that all state workers join their respective unions. This gave public service unions a ton of money to funnel into the Democratic party, while also negotiating pathetic deals for many of their forced subjects to keep state employment costs down. I’m hoping a pending case before SCOTUS ends mandatory union participation for public employees.

No governator can or will save us here. We are left to our own defense. The best hope we can get is an R elected as the veto-er in chief.

Remember: a California Republican is far more liberal than a 1970's Democrat. Compared to a 1960's Democrat they are socialists.

If one of the Dems - ie Villaraigosa, Eastin, or Chiang would pledge to veto all firearms related bills from their party coming out of the legislature - no matter what the 'crisis' of the day AND not create any anti regulations while in office, I'd consider. So Allen it is.

Am I really? Even though I voted for everyone in the CRPA with an A / A+?

But your governor would've saved you, Wouldn't he? I voted towards a governor that works out for the union, but voted for 6 other people who are all anti-union and pro-gun... so tell me how my vote affected you?

I think next year I might just vote full democrat and keep it to myself.

[b]There it is, the dumbest statement I'll see all day, and I'm on Facebook.

Waste your vote if you want to. I’ll use my brain instead of my heart.
Does using your brain include ignoring Cox' lies such as promising an English language reporter he was for the wall and two days later promising a Univision reporter he would oppose the wall?

Does it involve ignoring that he gave money to a George Soros PAC to fight conservative candidates?

Does using your brain involve ignoring his long history as a radio host declaring himself a 'Progressive Republican'?

I could go on but frankly if you're willing to ignore all of this you'd also ignore the $250,000 he gave to the gas tax repeal effort to buy a seat at the table long after it was up and running.

You'd probably also ignore the $50,000 he gave to the company own by the Howard Jarvis Taxpayer's Assoc. Grassroots Director shortly before HJTA endorsed him.

Or the $200,000 given to CA GOP prior to the convention with $100,000 earmarked for 'parties' for the delegates and the paid trips for delegates.

If using your brain means being willing to accept this kind of deceit and corruption out of your candidate for Governor why not just save time and vote for Newsom now?

Yes, you are.

And Villar did NOT get an A/A+ from CRPA.

Quote:
I'm voting for Villaraigosa..
I live in L.A., I've had Tony Villar as my Mayor and I've lived through his stance on guns, restricting the rights of citizens, his support of illegal aliens over citizens and more.
And I've fought him every step of the way.

If you're supporting Villar you damn well ARE voting to undermine the Bill of Rights because he worked his butt off trying to do it here in L.A. and you can bet he'd do the same and more as Governor.

But you'll make money and the Unions will like you so who cares right?
You got yours, right?

Well you damn well better get your kids Union jobs too because it's their futures and their rights you're selling to get 'yours' now.

I'll go with Allen, but he better have one hell of a plan to beat Newsom.

And I've fought him every step of the way.

If you're supporting Villar you damn well ARE voting to undermine the Bill of Rights because he worked his butt off trying to do it here in L.A. and you can bet he'd do the same and more as Governor.

Allen all the way. Cox is there as a spoiler. Cox didn't even vote for Trump during the last presidential election. He was a never trumper. He voted for Gary Johnson. Cox was against the border wall before he was for it.

Basically everything President Trump stands for.... and Travis Allen stands for.... Cox was against... until he realized he didn't stand a chance getting the conservative votes. The guy is a total fake and here to keep Allen from making the primaries.

Don't be fooled, Travis Allen is the only one to vote for and the only way to beat Newsom.

BTW, Allen unanimously won the debate in the poll
