After shooting 5 rounds back to back without ear plugs since no one wore ear plugs in Iraq... omg, I thought my ear drums were going to pop.... soooo loud..

Only change I've made since this picture was to add an Atlas bipod (and zero the Nightforce at 200 yards).

Just scrolled through from page 1, lots of nice 308's but didn't see any converted M1s yet. In pic below top rifle is a 30'06 from CMP but lower one is a Navy Marksman 308. Besides the change in caliber it is accurized with lug added to receiver, bedded, NM front sight. So no longer legal for a John C Garand match but good for highpower matches.

That's because this is a manual rifles gallery.

Nice rifles btw.

I went into the thread to post a Savage 10 but all those AR10's already posted must have cornfuzed me after I got done scrolling.

Garands are sure fun to shoot, but I'll take my scoped Savage any day for the 1000 yard shots.

I just put this together:
Remington 700 Police R5 26" .308 Bull Barrel
40x Trigger, Steel Bottom Plate, OS Knob
SWFA SS 10x42 scope with side focus.
Waiting for Harris bi-pod 9-13"

This is my first sniper rifle. I just started with the copper equlibrilum break-in.
Target #1, Shot #1 (left of the dot) prior to any scope adjustment
Target #1, shot #2 is 1.5 milrad to the right & 0.5 milrad up.

Target #2, Shot #3 Right 0.2 milrad

Target #3, Shot #4 (down 0.2 milrad)

After I get everything broke in, I'll leave the 25 yard range and see what I can do.

Triple

Galli, how do you like your 5r gen 2? I've been eyeing one in either .260 or .308 for some time now.
