totally agree. that break would be good for an AK or any other 7.62 rifle. but the ar15 has such a small kick i dont think its worth it

It was a limited run. Made of super-hard Inconel, it took hours of laser cutting to cut the tiny vents. Both Chris Costa and Travis Haley of Magpul have them on their carbines, and I have seen these brakes in person. There is no perceivable muzzle rise, and they have nice flash suppressing capabilities too.
Funny thing is, they are basically the same overall concept as an A2 flash hider with the front mostly closed off, sort of like the Branson Comp. |

People dont buy brakes for their AR15s to save their shoulder, its meant to make them shoot faster. They dont call it the KAC triple tap brake for nothing

It is worth it. Used it first hand. Very effective. I don't understand why they can't just make a steel version, maybe they will.
$432.95 http://www.operationparts.com/KAC_KN...EL_p/25683.htm PS. $450 is just equal a case of XM193....

How is the side blast on these? I have used a Phantom Brake, and it was unbearable to shoot or stand next to another shooter. It was like a cannon going off next to your ear!
Are these better in this respect? I'd hate to spend $435 for something I would hate using. Quote:

Here is some pictures of the brake in action.
Its loud, bright and it is very expensive. build with the KAC M4QD suppressor in mind, it utilize the Inconel as the base material this material is expensive and most suppressor mfg use it as the blast baffle. KAC build an entire muzzle out of it.

I've used a lot of different comps on my rifles. The best in recoil reduction was the Miculek, but the directed blast out of the short barrel came back to my face.
The worst so far, was an early Branson I got from DPMS. The blast was horrendous, the recoil was the same with or without the brake, and the end-cap blew off before I had fired 300 rounds. The GI brake works just OK. I have fired a buddy's rifle with a FA Enterprises Extreme screwed on......VERY nice, but very odd. I now endorse JP Enterprises brakes. Although large, they nearly eliminate recoil, direct the blast away from me, and up the "exotic" factor by 10. I plan on adding them to all my black and green rifles.

There are many many brakes out there...
The reason is that this KAC brake is supposed to be better than others... I haven't try ALL the brakes out there, but this particular one is indeed very effective! (it is pricy tho)

The materials make it a couple more times. That sounds about right for anything KAC. If you think it is too expensive, then it is not for you. A KAC 2-stage trigger is $350? Is it worth it? Probably not. Is it KAC, yes, it is.

KAC 2-stage is NOT worth the price, that I know for sure.

It's for tacticool mall ninjas.
Inconel is not that expensive, we use lots of it in turbines here at work and the laser cutting is done on CNC machines that are start and forget.

I love those infomericals, never bought anything but the food looked so good. Too bad they don't make infomericals for gun products Can you imagine the infomercial for the KAC break, with Chris Costa saying "bust 'em", hahahaha........ A $450 muzzle brake is a wast of $. If you want the most effective one on the market, get the JP model. Kills 70% of .223 recoil. They have a vid of a guy shooting a XM177E2 on full auto and the thing doesn't move--he is also only holding the gun with one hand. Its an impressive piece and only like $90.

I heard you have to keep the slots in the brake clean or you get a huge fireball. Supposedly costa's brake was very dirty thats why the muzzle flash was so huge.

I bought one. Wanted one before but couldn't find one. Always thought it looked cool from the PDW pics. I plan on using it with a KAC flip up FSB on a pistol. I still need the URX carbine length rail.
