Price all depends on what components you get. You can buy a $800 M&P or a $2500 LMT.

I put this one together in the last 2 months. The only thing I already had was the lower which costs $80 a few years ago.

BCM 16" Upper
BCM FA BCG
BCM Gunfighter Mod4 Charging Handle
Troy VTAC 13" Rail
Vortex Viper 6-20x44
Vortex Bubble Level
Burris PEPR Scope Mount
Magpul MOE Fixed Stock
Magpul MIAD Grip
CMMG LPK
DS Arms Stock Kit

Total price is approx $1650

With XM193 it shoots about 2MOA but am currently load developing for it and am hoping for 3/4moa.

Just spent about $2100 without optics on my SPR'ish build. Funny thing is I still don't have all the parts that I need to complete it.

its depends on how mild to wild u want to go.
before

after

first ar build
lower: kaiser defense
Lpk: RRA
Trigger: gieselle SSA
Grip: magpul miad fde
stock: magpul ctr fde
buffer: st2 tungsten filled
magpul bad lever

upper: vltor mur-1a
bolt: young nm full auto bcg
charging handle: bcmgunfighter mod 4
barrel: 18" rra ss bull barrel 223 wylde mid length gas system
Barrel work: shorten to 16", thread muzzel, turn down to fit handguard retainer nut

in all i have almost 4k in this rifle and its worth every penny, i built everything from off the shelf parts and its worked flawlessly, only had 1 failure to fire due to bad ammo.

second ar was a lot cheaper closer to 1500 for an spr build

PSA complete upper less rear sight $414 delivered
PSA bcg and handle $196 delivered.
Complete JD Machine lower, Stag LPK, ambi safety $435 incl. deros
So $1045 plus a rear sight. Not too bad for a solid little rifle.

Just built my 1st AR and it totaled around $1200. JD lower, PSA upper, Spikes BCG, Magpul goodies including sights and its featureless.

You just have to shop around and not be in a hurry.

Prices of things are blowing me away, crazy

$1400?? I bought my Colt M4 for $1050. This **** is nuts.

Turners has/had M&P 15 stripped lowers for 159.98 which is about $203.99 OTD

PSA has/had 16" carbine rifle kits complete with LPK and BCG for 599.99.

If you were lucky to pick those up, I reckon its about less than $850 complete with shipping.

My brother's girl friend came with us to the gunshow and on an impulse buy got a AR kit with an 80% lower for $725. 16'' 1/9 twist chrome lined A2 hand guards flat top collapsable stock lower parts kit $623 and a 80% lower $100. Not bad if you ask me.

Just ordered with non-crazy pricing on a Stag Arms model 2 rifle kit and Stag stripped lower receiver - just shy of $775 for a unassembled complete Stag brand rifle. Retail price of this is ~$1050.

My best friend (since 6th grade) who is an FFL dealer will receive it and do the lower assembly for me - all no charge - priceless......!

I spent to much, but got exactly what I wanted. I am very happy with my rifle. Spent a little less on my old ladies and I'm also happy with that build.

If you want something very basic, that you never plan on upgrading, then I'd say by a S&W M&P Sport. Turner's has them for $899.99 right now.

My first build I just bought my JD lower for 280 including tax and dros....which is still in jail. Fishing around for a spikes upper seems like i can get one for around 670. So I'm thinking around 1k for a complete build.

I have been sitting on my JD lower for about a month now. I may start to build it soon enough but my LR308 build is kind of priority. Even with quality parts, I am glad I am still under on some of these AR15 builds for my LR308.

I ordered everything on PSA, except the tripped lower. Everything will be delivery to me next week.

Lower (local): $100 + $10 tax+ $30 dros = $140

PSA:

BCG: $100
Handle: $20
LPK: $100
Upper: $450
Shipping: $30

So far is $840 with no sights/scope yet. I know I can buy the basic AR15 at that price but this comes out much better spec/I wanted.

Reminds me how lightweight an AR can be.. lol

OK thanks, good to know that things are more in stock. I like PSA so I think I'll see what they have in stock and go the same route. Thanks!

$1100 on my build.

Spikes stripped lower, spikes buffer kit, magpul CTR, spikes enhanced LPK, spikes midlength complete upper and spikes carry handle rear sight.

I wanted a LMT rear sight, but could not find one anywhere.

depends what kind of build you want.

PSA Upper build with mil spec lpk, lower and stock will run you less than $1,000

Then you can change your rail, get a decent red dot sight, get f/r bus, then it'll cost you another $300-700 depending on how expensive your sights and red dot and rail will be.

Too freaking much! My next AR build is going to be a simple A2 or A4 clone. Simple, battle-proven and effective without unnecessary add-ons.

This is my first build:

JD lower- $150 (100+tax+fee)
PSA 14.7" rifle kit- $620 (599+shipping)
Bullet Button- $22 (20+shipping)
Rear sight ????? Need (mbus/troy or a donated carry handle anyone?)

Total: priceless! actually $792+rear sight

Now if you add in the c4 mid cutout rail, aimpoint pro, sling, ergo grip, b5 bravo stock that I want I will probably spend twice that on the accessories, but if I simply add an Mbus rear sight and don't go mall ninja I will be under $850.

I just spent roughly $1950 (not including accessories, mags, optic scope). With 3 pmags, optic, sling, rifle case was roughly $3300

Things have come down substantially now, so, yeah, completely feasible to do a poorboy build. I just got a complete blemished PSA magpul lower for $240 as my FFL is a good buddy and didn't charge me a transfer fee! Well, I did get him to twelvers of Newcastle.
