Trap was burning the candle on both ends, it caught up to me and burnt my end. Tell you about it when I see you, short version is, I found out the hard way how far I could push my physical limits.

First year of 1885, with 505 made that year.
You may want to get some pics and contact Bert with this one, good chance it might be in his forth coming book on 1885's.

Hey Trap! Thanks for doing this. I just picked up a Winchester Model 64 that had lived in an attic for 40 years untouched (along with an unfired Marlin Model 60 from the 70s).

The Model 64 appears to be a standard model (.30 WCF, 24" barrel, uncheckered stock), though it has a Lyman 56A peep sight that appears original (no marks in the empty dovetail for the rear site). Serial is 1328529, which in the main database just comes back with "sometime in the WWII years."

The gun is in fantastic condition and I can't wait to take it out and put a few rounds through it.

Made in 1942, with 29,882 made that year.
This is another one you need to contact Bert about for his survey, and he can give you the exact day and month it was made, and what config it left the factory in too.

Bert Hartman at Win1885@msn.com , put "Winchester" in the subject line, and tell him Trap sent you. And he's probably going to want pics.

Give him the info on both, he'll give you an exact day of birth for them, and maybe some more info.

How about what should be a Model 70, sn#10113. I say it should be because it's a custom heavy barrel, custom stock, etc but the serial number seems surprisingly low.

Someone either ruined the collector value of an early Model 70, or salvaged it. Either way, they made up for their sacrilege by doing it right, that is one outstanding firearm!

Winchester Model 1895 30-40 krag
We think the Serial #:69043
It has the patent #(Nov 5, 1895) stamped on it but it also has a Date of Aug 1907 not sure if that would be the year? The barrel is approximately 27" long the overall gun is 47" the stock is 13.5 in long. We are needing this information to find a replacement stock as the original was damage in a hunting accident 20 yrs ago.

Made early in 1910, with 4471 made that year.
Post a pic of your stock and the damage, and I'll see what I can do to help you out. If it's repairable, it's better to keep it original. They used a flat buttplate and a crescent one, here's some repro stocks.

I'm pretty certain it's made in 1907, but I have a Winchester 1907 serial #1152.

Hydrophilic, sorry for the late response, life is a bit complicated right now.

Model 1876 sn. 124xx was made in mid to late 1880, with 4,749 made that year. What caliber is it?
Model 1873 sn. 210xxxB was made in 1886, with 25,354 made that year.

Thank you so much for the info. I believe my model 76 shoots a .45-60. Ill double check next time I pull it out. Would you also be able to tell me the year of my model 90, sn 7041, my 1887 shotgun, sn 47339, and my model 94, sn 470795? I know things are probably crazy with the new year so take your time. Thank you for all you are doing.

Is this old enough?

Model 1876 Centennial in 45-75 caliber. Serial number 1276 I believe (haven't looked in a while).

I found it in the Blue Mountains of Oregon near Granite in 2003 while I was archery Elk hunting about 4 miles up a mountain from the nearest road. I had just shot a Cow Elk and laid my pack next to the first blood to get out my tracking tape. When I picked up the pack I saw 8" of the octagon barrel sticking out of the dirt from under a rotten log. I don't even want to contemplate the odds of my finding it under those circumstances. Had I not shot the Elk in exactly that spot it would still be there.

That'll buff out.
Serial number 1429 was the last one made in 1876, so it was a first year gun.

Crazy with the new year? It's been complete chaos for the last 16 months! Divorce, had to go back to work, elderly parents in and out of the hospital, moving them into assisted living, cleaning out a 2200sq ft house of 60+ yrs of accumulated stuff, refinancing my house to pay off the ex wife, and averaging 4hrs of sleep a day the whole time. Crazy? I think it's my new normal.

Model 1890?, sn 7041 was made in 1891, with 10,639 made that year.
Model 1887, sn 47339 was made in late 1892, with 9,830 made that year.
Model 1894, sn 470795 was made in late 1910, with 29,971 made that year.

I just picked this 94 up at the Lodi gun show. Well, actually, I just put it in 10 day detention. Serial number look up says 1919. I know that the rear sight is a replacement. Does anyone have a source for an original? Any other particulars noticed?

I have an 1886 lever. 45/90. Full hex, full tube, pistol grip. Patent under lever, model on tang, manufacture in front of rear sight, and 45 90 WCF behind rear sight. Don't see a serial. Any help??
Edit: under patent date is Jan 20 1885.

Also have a .22WRF gallery pump. Full hex. Model 1890 serial 253522
