Default Use camcorder as spotting scope?

A decent HD comcorder ( like sony) has 60X optics zoom and 2000X digital zoom, and 3' LCD.

Will it work like spotting scope ? Does anyone even try it ?

I have tried using my camcorder as a spotting scope but it BARELY worked at 100yds on a sunny day. My camera however is 35x zoom and has a very small screen (2"). My guess would be that yours would work but I wouldn't rely on it. If you're shooting at Angeles, they have spotting scopes for rent.

this is the camcorder I used
