Default Got my SP-01 back from Cajun Gun Works!

So after debating to myself for six weeks or so, I decided to go with the SAO conversion and removal of the firing pin block. Finished product is a super crisp break trigger at 2 lbs and 15 oz. Reset is at 1mm! After dry firing for a while and switching to my P226 with the Armory Craft Flat Trigger, the sig's trigger felt spongy! I've been buying a handgun every month since I got into the gun scene but the itch for another firearm is gone for now.

I haven't gone to the range but here are some quick observations. The slide action is smoother to include pulling back the race hammer. Day and night difference compared to the stock ring hammer. I almost never shoot in DA so no regrets at all with the SAO conversion as this the trigger action on this makes it my favorite pistol so far over my Glock, SA 1911, P226, and 92fs. I can't wait till my next range day..

Quick video of the trigger break and reset:

Here is what you should expect back from CGW:

Of course, they ship back your stock parts. Bought an extra recoil spring for the stainless steel guide rod as well:

Here is what I had done:

Here are the specs:

10x bushing, work order states hard chrome. Fiber Optic sights were installed by me prior to sending to CGW:

And some other pictures to share:

Thank you.

I have the half checkered Cocobolo grips and thinking about aluminum grips.

What color and which version would you suggest? I believe CZ customs offers a different version too.

Good to hear that you are happy with the work done by Cajun Gun Works. I've been waiting to decide which of my two CZ pistols I like well enough to spend the money on for a Pro Carry package from Cajun.

Do it! Well worth the money spent not to mention the peace of mind when you have them do the work.

Question for CZ gurus here.. Provided the video I shared, is there any room for adjustment on the over-travel screw?

That looks very nice, I've no doubt you are going to enjoy shooting that one and it will probably become your favorite gun.

Give us the range report when you get a chance and enjoy!

Just got the call from CGW today, my SP-01 hits the gunsmiths bench tomorrow for Pro Package. Can't wait, it's been there since early September. Should be back in my hands by next week! Enjoy!

OP how much do you have to spend for this package?

I have a SP01. I wonder I should sell the sp01 and get a TS or upgrade the sp01.

This was my dilemma too. Ended up keeping my stock SP-01 and DROSing a Tac Sport.

#MeToo Not impressed with my stock SP-01, but to be fair I have very high standards, kinda regretting not getting a TS but these upgrades look pretty awesome, maybe there is hope

Gratz on your CGW mail.

I have not looked at the video yet. That being said when you adjust the overtravel set screw just make sure that the Sear is clearing the hammer hooks throughout the hammers travel. Over adjustment can cause premature wear on the hammer hooks.

If Cajun Gun Works adjusted the set screw it is a good bet that it is well adjusted.

Good thing I have low standards. Love my SP-01. Great fit in hand, lots of factory upgrades, good price, and a decent enough trigger compared to some. Then again I have a certain appreciation for guns in their stock configuration. Keep telling myself that one day I'll buy another to have Cajunized.

Congrats Ducatiti. You will really love the CGW CZ. After you shoot this, you will know why there's so much hype around the CZ's. If you don't want to tinker with your next gun, just buy the CZ Tactical Sport. All you need on that is to change the grips and front sight and you are good to go.

My P-01 just got to CGW and is in line. Reading this thread and looking at the pictures here I feel like a kid about to go into a candy store.

My SP-01 is pretty well broken in so I'm going to leave it stock. I have no doubt I will change my mind about it when the P-01 comes back from Cajun.

I really should just send them my 97b. It just sits anyways and is probably my next least favorite to shoot next to the g19. Light strikes just annoy me.

What was the turnaround time for all the work?

I think green are probably my favorite on the black guns but hard to choose. Whichever you pick will look great on that beauty. Congrats

Donít adjust the over travel screw. Thatís the reason you sent the gun to the professionals at CGW in the first place!

If you adjust it, just take note of your adjustment. If you go a quarter turn as an example, you can go back a quarter turn if you don't like it.

My first SP-01 has the same CGW setup as yours Ducatiti with different sights and it's a great shooter well worth the investment .
I sent off 4 more CZs recently and it looks like mine were finished the week before yours .These were received by CGW Sept 14 and completed on Nov 7th .
My 97B Glossy Blue got the full ďEĒ Conversion package and the rest had Pro-Package plus fiber optic EZ/D sights .Well Rami just got f.o. front sight and 97B just new rear as it came with factory f.o. front.
The 97B trigger pull came in just under 3 lbs and the rest under 4 lbs which isn't too bad. CGW did great work as usual and each one feels amazing so now I just need to get these out to the range.
Best of luck with your awesome new SP-01 and I recommend German Nill grips. http://mactecsales.com/

Same exact setup I have, OP! Absolutely love it! Keep it the way it is. CGW has these mastered.

I really was debating on a TacSport, but they aren’t much different triggerwise. Sure a heavier slide and no rail, but does that make it worth it?

Does cajun bought components in some of my CZ's count? LOL if so I'm in. And can I sneak in my CZ Custom Accu Shadow?

The pistol looks great OP, may I mention the rubber grips in my opinion feel very good compared to the pretty aluminum or fancy wood, not as good as Nills but for the price they are good.

As for the after travel I agree with the other members, one quarter to a half turn of play.
Enjoy!!
