Default Just saw this on Ruger's Facebook

Search didn't turn up anything. If it's a dupe, it'll give the dupe police something to do.

http://www.facebook.com/Ruger

the new LCR .22

It'd be nice if they improved the sights. As it is, it's more of a point-shooter.

Huh, an ultra-reliable, lightweight, compact, rust-resistant .22.

I'd get one just to toss into the BOB.

Wow, thats really cool. I was contemplating getting the SP101 in 22, but I might just hold out for this one instead depending on cost.

I misspoke earlier, the frame that houses the cylinder and barrel is aluminum.

Someone on gunbroker is already selling it in the $500+ range.. which I think is too much. If it lands closer to the $300 mark (their standard LCRs float in the mid to high $300s), I'm sold.

Nice piece.

Not sure why gun review guys are always somewhat eccentric, but this guy really knows his shiz, and is certainly better on camera than Nutnfancy in terms of delivering info in a clear, concise manner.

This is what I'm guessing. That would put it closer to the other 2 versions out there. 375-425 range.

I don't see a need for a 22 snub

I really can't believe they made it. I love 22's. I have like 10. But a revolver of this size is most commonly used for a SD tool. No way am I going to use 22 for SD with so many better options out there.

This is one that I'm going to pass on.

I don't think that's necessarily the intended use. I know in my case, my wife prefers the form factor and aesthetics of snub nose revolvers, but a revolver in .38 +P or .357 is not very enjoyable to shoot all day at the range, especially for a woman. I don't reload, so the option of reloading super light, low recoil rounds is not there. This would be a great gun for her. It's got the look she likes in a caliber that won't beat her up. It's a plinker.

I hear you, to each their own. But I'd think that a 22 revolver with a longer barrel would be much more fun to shoot. It's going to be hard to be accurate with this little revolver.

Do you reload by chance?
I load my own 148gr WC that only travel 650fps in 38spl. They feel like a 22 recoil wise. Super fun to shoot all day long.

I don't reload. I never really considered it until recently when I got my .38. Something I plan on getting into, but right now its a tough sell to the wife with all the guns and ammo and the safe I bought over the last 6 months.

I was thinking the same thing. Let's face it, the intended purpose of a snub-nose is as a SD weapon, and 22Mag as a rimfire SD load makes more sense.

I was thinking that, too. Would it have been difficult to make it in .22 mag, and advertise it as using both?

I love the idea of the Ruger Single Ten they recently made...but they should have made it in .22 mag (or with swappable cylinders for such).

Still, I could see this thing having some use, even as a self-defense gun. Especially for someone small or intimidated by heavier recoil handguns. I can think of a couple of girls I know that I think would shoot these all day, but take one shot with a .38 version and put it down and say "Okay, that's enough of that."

not everything needs a specific use or purpose. somethings are just fun

i would buy this for my wife too. Not that she's not capable of shooting larger calibers, she just REALLY enjoys shooting .22 (as i think most everyone else does) and i know that she sometimes has trouble with semi-autos because she's a lefty, and she hates having to clear a miss-feed or jam. she also likes small guns because "they're cute" . this would be something ultra simple and fun for her, and when she's not using it, i could have fun with it too. (though i'd have to take the pink grip off of it first because i know she'll want to put one on it )

I would prefer one with a hammer, but that's just my preference in revolvers. It wouldn't stop me from buying this one though.

I wonder why they didn't go for 9rds like some other .22 revolvers i've seen. of course, 8 is better than 7 which is the other number alot of .22 revolvers carry

Seems to be a fine gun. I am not going to buy one, though. Me don’t like plastics in firearms. However, it is just me.

I don't like them, will never buy one, but if that's what people like that's fine. I'm a bit surprised Ruger hasn't made it in 327. That seems to be the "go to defense" round for those who don't like recoil.
