Default Where to shoot OUTSIDE near Escondido (North County)?

Preferably on public lands, not a range. But outdoor range could work.

Seems Cleveland NF does not allow "target shooting"

Down here for a week with family and taking some novices out to shoot a variety of hand guns for a couple hours. Would love To just head down a dirt road and find a good spot...

Thanks!

Nothing I'm aware of unless you go out to the desert.

Nothing close and people will be reluctant to share that info. Many require a vehicle with high clearance and maybe 4x4 to be safe. Anything close would be closed due to fire season anyhow.

There's a newer one-man operation up in Lake Elsinore called Rancho Deliverance if you're inclined to make the trek.

All BLM land in san diego and riverside county is closed for fire season.

Imperial county BLM is the closest , expect 115* temps

Rainbow Range (I am a member) is by far your best bet in this area. Public land where you can shoot will be either closed, far away or well hidden.
