Bent my first barrel
As many of you no Im no rookie to this hobby wanted to share one of my mistakes.
Not paying attention I was pissed off at my dog fpr chewing up one of my big$ murphys handmade pistol grips so went out to barrel a build. It wouldnt go right in felt like press was bypassing so I kept pumping but never looked past the trunnion. When I did well look at the pic. Live and learn all I did to make it drop in was add a little heat to the trunnion and the bastard slid right in. Live and learn guess I get to learn how to straighten my first barrel. The bend is at the gasblock so if it wont go straight ist going to be a pistol So no worries just once again dont be careless or work or drive when ANGRY or TIRED its not smart.

I know of a restaurant down here that will take your dog (I have to look over my shoulder and make sure my wife doesn't see this, she loves our dogs)

Man... sorry to hear about the grip that was gorgeous.... so smooth it felt like bone...
think you can fix it (kinda) wth some resin and alot of love? looks like you're gonna have another ak pistol wether you want it or not... At least the damage is not on the chamber end. |

long time ago i house sat for a guy that had dogs that turned doorknobs. freakin mutts were like velociraptors. they could power thru the locked doorknobs. just twisted em till the knob broke or until the lock failed. left teeth marks in the brass. crazy dogs. this one, "sasha" was the biggest german shepard ive ever seen. it once was walking by the coffee table and swung her tail into a full 2 liter bottle of soda. sent it across the room and into another dogs head. didnt even notice it had wagged the bottle off the table.
my dog doesnt chew anything. im so thankful. hes not much of a barker either. im lucky all the way around.

Bummer!
I have an easy fix, at least for the anger... Fix the barrel, shoot the dog with the gun! problem solved.

Two bids on a dog chewed stock. Wow, that's different. I people are intersted in buying stuff in that condition Then I am going to have to rethink about selling some of the junk in my garage I assumend no one would be interested in

I think I will put it on GB it will probably fetch double the new price if I list it as "rare collecters custom exotic wood PG".
And yes I straigtned the barrel in the press no problem w/ some angle blocks a straight edge and a second pair of eyes.

What kind of dog was that?
I used to have a PB that liked to chew on aluminum cans and drinking glasses (yes, the glass ones, not the plastic ones). Most gentle dog you'd ever want to meet, but loved chewing things!!! |

LOL... Both, Now my wife makes sure to pick up her shoes after wearing them or else our little terror will have them for chew toys...
My dog love to sit with my in the garage sniff at my guns and parts and wags her tale... I guess what makes me happy makes her happy too.
