Default Rem 870 factory top folder... sling swivel?

I picked one of these up for an older 870P I had hangin' around (I have my reasons, it *really is* for storage needs) but now I'm finding that the sling swivel that goes on the pistol grip is really hard to find.

Any clues guys?

Uncle Mikes *used* to make a piece but I'm having no joy in finding it.

Uncle Mikes part #
Set. Mo. 1643

Police Gun Swivels

See here:

I'm also looking for the factory front and rear trigger plate pins if anybody has a pair laying around!

Thanks!

there is a history of hairline cracking with some examples of the pistol grip on the Remington LEO metal folders. i'd suggest you use the sling sparingly if you're going to use the sling mount on the grip once you obtain necessary ingredients for operation. painful to shoot with buckshot, i'll guess you already know. it is a 'space saver' when storing an 870 with stock folded up and over. i had one that got away with the 870 it was mounted to when i sold the shotgun. i now have a lnib example that i picked up as a collectible from a member here on the forum; i can't seem to get away from these things.

I wondered about that - that attachment point seems a little questionable. I just thought I'd use the factory mount for a carrying sling, nothing fancy. I can rig an alternative if I need to. It was mainly for the space saving - I can't imagine that stock offers a comfortable cheekweld.

Send me your address and I will mail you the trigger plate pins out of my 870P.

I installed a Mesa side saddle the day I received the gun, the pins are brand new.

Also, I had one of those folders and HATED IT!!!

It was uncomfortable, the LOP was wrong and I didn't feel like modifying it so I got rid of it.

Uncomfortable, weird LOP, but man they look good! (pics from eric90503's thread: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=570433)

He has some sort of swivel on his PG...can't quite make out how it attaches from the pics, though.

I also remember there being a sling ring at the stock pivot pin (like a Cobray street sweeper).

When I used to own one, I put loop side velcro tape on the flat of the buttstock rear, so it wouldn't mark up the barrel when you fold it.

That's still one of the more handsome gun configurations even though the cheek weld sucks!
