I'd go Oaklander if I can. Been holding off to find out if schedule allows it. (especially since I can actually fit into one of my suits now too). But alas, I can't. Something changes, I'll see y'all there.

This is a good time to save seats if you're there before the rest of us coming from Napa and Solano Counties. Much appreciation!

However, I will try to run as fast I can in heels and not fall down, twisting an ankle like the nimrods in monster flicks - lol

I'm simply posting ONE-CLICK email numbers. If you feel shame as a result, look inside your own soul because I'm too busy.

All I know is, the number of ONE-CLICKs to the Oakland City Council has increased by 200% (is now 72) over where it was when I posted 24 hours ago and there's a hearing tonight. Yeah, it should be MUCH more (in the hundreds if not thousands), but it's better than it was.

Excellent letter. Absolutely right - don't spend too much time on it or worry about sounding "scholarly" (but don't be rude). They're too arrogant to care much about what you say past "SUPPORT" or "OPPOSE" (and you're lucky if they do that.) If you use the words "Constitution" or "Second Amendment", sad to say, you'll only make their eyes glaze over.

Let Chuck Michel and his crew handle the legal details - we're there to backup NRA and provide VOLUME.

Yes, and the reason is that I started a new thread on the topic.

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=270181

And the mods were nice enough to sticky it.

Mike,

You'll understand when I really feel less than sympathetic that your tools are failing to see much use. It's called obsolescence. Did you plan for it?

If NRA One-Click was even relatively valuable to the market, why do you suppose that it consistently sits idle? I have no trouble mobilizing over a thousand volunteers throughout the state, over 375 donors in a week's time (between Christmas and New Years, no less), creating, printing and distributing nearly 100,000 pieces of information in ~2 weeks... this community steps up and makes things happen on a very regular basis. What inhibits Cal-NRA from mobilizing even its own MC membership to use it's (simple, easy and quick) One-Click system? Is it possible that a) the leadership isn't effective, b) the tool isn't in demand or c) some combination of both?

At some point, you're going to have to ask the tougher questions. For now, I'll let you think a little about the implications of the above; the next round won't be as guarded.

I'm going to ask you one more time - please do not make inaccurate, shortsighted and inflammatory comments about our membership. They do not deserve your words or your tone. Are we clear?

I want to help you, and I will continue to support NRA's efforts (that is, unless it starts pulling an NRA-ILA- that's my new euphemism for "dumbass"). Again, let's do our jobs as leaders and stop pointing the finger at the troops for our own misgivings.

Had to skip out at 7:50 PM to make the train to get to SAC for the microstamping hearing tomorrow. Word on the street is this meeting could go well into the night before we even have the guns issues come up at all...

To all the CGN/CGF speakers; great job, thanks for effort ...

To OCC, <unprintable>

OCC says: "you Calgunners are finally finished (even after we chopped your speaking time down 2/3'rds) ... those in favor, passed"

Whoever took the pic of the sleeping council member, can you post it please ?

Who was that reporter ... I'd sure like to read his column from tonight ...

Sorry I couldn't stay past 8 PM since my day usually starts at 4:30 AM to work in St. Helena. BUT, I would like to say that I was very happy to be able to meet some other Calgunners and extend my thanks to everyone for their efforts and the fine leadership we have on Calguns.

Gents, you were very dapper

It was a great turnout. I got home around 12:30 then stayed up to read ALL of the posts. We attend all of our city council meetings here in Los Banos and have been dissapointed at some times. I could not believe how rude the Oakland council was. There were 6 of them, 3 pairs, talking to each other and one old women fell asleep and had to be nudged back to life. I was waiting for her to start snoring.

Like our council on some points, they had their minds made up long ago and nothing anybody said would have changed their minds. It will be great after they spend their money on att's and we can say "We told you so"!

Thanks to everyone for showing up. We will win.

Really? They forgot that they are there because of us voters?

That's what they seem to forget, the voters. My coworker said he gets the same treatment when he attends the St. Helena council meetings. They structure their meetings to be drawn out, hoping the people who want to speak leave.

Thanks again to everyone who was able to stay.
