Girls with (C&R) Guns
How about a "Girls with Guns" thread just for the C&R forum?
I'll start it off with one of the ever popular Israel Defense Forces girls... I wonder if that K98 had been converted to 7.62NATO yet?

With the old style photo and the K98 I would have thought it was one of the Hitler Youth (Brown Shirts) pre WWII.

This Girls and Guns Thread is way better than that other one
Minus that last photo of course......that just isn't right I don't think any amount of Tung Oil is gonna make that look any better

Apparently it's not that hard with a reloading setup to convert 8mm x 57 rounds to work. I've heard of several guys that do this.

What are the chances of seeing something like this at a Los Angeles high school these days?
Can anybody identify this target rifle?

The girl holding the rifle kind of looks like Natalie Wood when she was younger - it's not, but when I first looked at it I thought this may have been an "off the set/behind the scenes" photo-op from "Rebel Without a Cause". As far as the rifle goes, from looks of the front sight, the thin butt-stock and finger grooves in the "sporterized" stock, I would say it's either a sporterized 1898 Krag or possibly, because of the large receiver ring, a sporterized Mauser M98? .

Jeeze, I thought it was Natalie Woods too...as for the gun, that is 1903 front sight, a krag sporterized stock and no 1903 magazine/single fire groove on the stock..Lack of rear sight after the ring. Mauser, Springfield, Krag is out of the question. The lay of the 1917 leather sling denotes a .22 cal training rifle. Closing her left eye is a faux paux. My dad trained with a 22 cal in high school ROTC in 1938-40....Maybe this is that gun. My guess is its a Krag 1898 .22 cal training rifle. 840 manufactured between 1906 and 1908 (source 1998 standard catalog of firearms.) There is a discrepancy about weather the training rifle was a carbine or full rifle.

Now I know this one is only a painting, but...
...proper trigger finger discipline makes me hot!
Is that a Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless?

Good eye picking out the VZ-52. It took me a few seconds to find it, I really had to look for it.
