Meh, it's just a small Glock. I love Glocks but is this really "exciting?" Especially in CA?

It isn't even small. It's huge compared to Kahr.

I'd like to see some comparison photos between the Glock 42, the Kahr P380 and the Ruger LCP.

Bottom line is the 42 has a market to female, older, and inexperienced shooters who can't handle the recoil of the 9mm. Same concept as the Ruger LC38.

I sorta want one but it should have been made in 9mm, 40sw, 45acp. Maybe next year.

Yup, especially if they follow up with a 10mm version.

I imagine the Glock 21 Lone Wolf 6" 10mm barrel would fit. Worth a try.

There's always the LCP for a small 380 and the CM9 for small 9mm

This doesn't hold any particular appeal to me, but I'm glad to see them putting out new models.

Should've done a single stack 9mm instead.

Won't be able to get one here anyway.

BTW, I'm not a Glock fan but, I hadn't seen any discussion about this yet. I'd rather have a Sig232.

Not a problem. It can use generic .380 components.

Or just a PPK in .380!

I think availability will be tight the first year. There is a real threat that SSE will be gone this time next year. Why go to the expense of the components when you won't move that many and then closed? Don't see it. Love to be wrong.

Price point in the low to mid $400s will mean this gun will fly off the shelves for the next 2 or 3 years. Ill buy one. I am not entirely a fanboy but do respect what a glock is.

380 glock that's as big as my kahr k40? Pass. Make it thinner and in 9mm and we will talk.

Meh, pointless gun is pointless. Who the heck needs that big of a gun in 380acp? There are so many guns that are the same size or even slightly smaller than the G42 that are chambered in 9mm or 40S&W it really befuddles me that Glock would even bother with this. They could have easily done the exact same gun in 9mm and had a real winner. I'm sure some people will love it, just like some people like the Ruger LC380, but as much as I like Glocks I will stick with my LCP for 380acp for now.

I am in the same boat. I have an LCP that I carry, and also own bigger .380's. If they were to come out with a 9mm the same size, I would add it to my collection though.

Sorta late to the party...

And given its size I would rather carry my Baretta Nano 9mm as a CCW weapon.

I predict they will sell truckloads of this pistol. Probably more than the 10mm, 357sig, and 45gap. I think it is a perfect size. Not too small like the LCP and not too big or heavy like the lc380 with the glock trigger.

Any info on a possible G40? Seems strange to have info on the G41 and G42, but no G40.

Naming a gun the "Glock 40" would create confusion with consumers unless it was .40 to begin with. I believe they are skipping that number.

I wonder if that means they will also skip "Glock 44," "Glock 45," or "Glock 50?"

I've heard people unfamiliar with the Glock model lineup think "Glock 22" was a .22LR Glock!

They are probably skipping G40 as it would just confuse people too much.

The 42 makes sense to me.

It's a glock that caters to females and the elderly who might have trouble even trying to rack a 17 let alone put up with the snappy recoil of a small single stack 9mm.

The heavy trigger throws me off but I can see that for safety and peace of mind on a carry piece. So I hope there will be a connector and spring kit for it.

I think it will be perfect for my wife and daughter to train on and maybe try in a ankle holster too.

So yeah... I want one I'm hoping oc armory or rifle gear will sse
