Headed to "the spot" this weekend to see Perseid( the meteor shower). Gonna be the best on Saturday this year and being the desert is so dark, should be a good show. If you happen to be there, come say hi. (White toyota 4 runner).

The trailer for the new toy isn't quite ready. Need to add some new fenders for the larger tires, so not this time. But won't be long and it will be ready. Might do bee canyon within a month. You want me to let you know when?

I don't want to wade thru all of the pages, so I'll ask here; does anyone know the name of the RV rental place in the high desert that was mentioned as renting RVs for the Shoot. Please post it and pm me if you would. The post might also help others interested in renting an RV for the event.

Thank you.

I can rent one locally, but not having to drive the distance towing a trailer and coming down the Cajon Pass would be a pleasant change of pace and I certainly do mean pace. Even with the electronic brake I have it's like an "E" ticket ride (some of you younger members might not have any idea what I mean by "E" ticket ride) coming down that hill

I was wondering about that very thing.
How many Calgunners have left the state for greener pastures and won't be on the front line fighting Zombies?

How are you going to hit the bolt on my AR500 target again if you live in Idaho. The new one is a harder grade, so it might not break like the last one. Good Times from a very early Zombie Shoot.

Good news for me finally! I will definitely be attending the Zombie Shoot. A decade long, much needed knee replacement surgery necessary from my old days in le has been postponed until the end of January so I can do some things the rest of the year.

I have the Murrieta Rod Run to handle, the Zombie Shoot to attend, be able to enjoy the holidays with my family (my wife let me know she will not wrap the Christmas presents by herself) and the Shot Show in January. The pain and crying can come later.

My son, his son and three other grandsons will be with me. The 17yr. old went when he was 14, but it will be the first time for the 12 and two 10yr. olds. They are excited and so am I to be able to enjoy another Zombie Shoot and this time with some of my family (I have 8 more grandkids).

Looks like I am going to make it out to this one. I have only been to one in the past; I think it was number 4. Thinking about coming out Friday morning. I have a generator if it is needed and can bring a bit of extra firewood if that would help.

I even have a brand new super secret rifle that I have not had the chance to shoot yet. I probably should not be talking about it on a public forum because it is a highly advanced prototype with top secret technology for the military's new ultra modern battle rifle; It's called an M1 Garand. Shhhh ... don't tell anyone ... it's a secret!

There is always a need for more firewood.

Here's one to add to the suggestion box for the RSO team:

For those of us who are challenged with guessing distance, how about a 100 yard out chalk line so that we know the minimum distance to place steel targets beyond?

I hate to do this, but…
With the ammo ban coming, and .50 BMG being what it is, I’m [to be totally blunt and honest] hoarding all the ammo I’ve got for myself. Sorry.
So if you want to shoot the Barrett, its bring your own ammo, with some caveats to be taken very seriously (google up “Barrett 50bmg kaboom” for some good reasons to start with).
I will allow only FACTORY BOXED COMMERCIAL NAME BRAND BALL AMMO. No surplus. No loose rounds. No pretty colored or shiny tips. No half or open boxes. No reloads. No belted rounds. No freedom munitions or LAX ammo or whatever other garage band ammo mfg you like.

There have been more a couple very serious issues with the bring your own ammo in the past (which we won’t get into) but we will try this again.
Some suggestions:

I have also had major issues with targets in the past. As much as I’ve tried to have a nice steel plate for people to shoot at, no target or stand has ever held up or stood up after more than a couple hits.
So if you want to shoot the Barrett, it is also bring your own target. For safety, the target will have to be at the base of the hill ~300 yards (ish) away, straight out from wherever I am at. Nowhere else.

I recommend doubling up on ear pro, and proper safety glasses are a must when shooting it.
Usually Saturday after lunch is the time frame.

So none of these? Oh man.

Serious: For those interested, Woodbury Outfitters has 10rd boxes of AE 50BMG in stock with free ship for ~$38. Split 3 boxes between friends (30rds) and use for "20BUCKS" for $20off $100+ orders, still with free ship (~$3.15/round).
