Default Soooo.. I built one.

Got the receiver for my birth day by my wife and family then sold some old scuba stuff to finance the project worry free. Always wanted a mag fed shot gun (not a fan of side saddles or adding length to the front end)

For the most part everything was straight forward and the hardest part was waiting for parts in the mail. How ever I do wish there was more instructions with the magazine feed ramp and drum mags. I get that their phasing out both receiver and mag conversion kits but still a little diagram or more in depth video on youtube would really be nice.

Anyways she runs well but still a little sticky when racking her back home. No range trip yet either till I get the drum running and some extra mags. Any tips on the mag conversions or smoothining the action out would be helpful, till then ill keep dry firing her to help brake everything in.

Note: Just to address this already, yes its a Mav 88 receiver to so my safty is at my finger and not out of reach. No bullet button is needed, yes I can rock an Ak style mag faster then loading a tube

Right now it just has the rear sight in the pick above. The lower picture was taken before it came in the mail. Otherwise I have no clue yet. I want a micro red dot on it but I want a big circle little dot style reticule. So till I find one that isn't more then the price of a gun I'll just use my irons.

I wonder why there are no 80% shotgun recievers. I'd like to build one too, but if I have to dros a reciever I'll just go ahead and buy a 500 or 870 complete.

Back on topic: shotgun looks nice op.

Probably just not worth the trouble of manufacturing and then the process of doing it yourself is my guess. Just basing that thought off the 10/22 80%s out there. Never see much of them other that for sale. Price and tools to make it work is well more then a factory 10/22. But some people like no numbers and pay extra. But again that's just my guess.

Personally tracking down all the parts expeccially the mav88 trigger group was kind of a pain in the but and total cost was more then a odd the shelf model. But then again I waisted less time getting what I wanted specifically then swapping out parts down the road. It's an options weighing game.

I like it. Looks really heavy to lug around.

If you want nice ergonomic but prettier furniture, I have some for sale.

Will make you a deal.

Actually haven't weighed it yet. With out the drum it feels like a regular mossy. But aside from that I didn't build it to lug around. Just have fun at the range and depending on how braking in goes and 400 or so rounds later a home defense/ truck option.

Thanks but no thanks. I chose the furniture on her for my liking and for the ergonomics to fit just right. Still need to add a recoil pad though.

Thank you. Of course, planning on full range report at 200 and 400 rounds along with footage here and there. Just got to save up for a couple of more mags for a more rounded test.

Limbsaver puts out a snap-on pad that should go well and do well with your stock.

Nice shotgun! What kit is it? I saw the Adaptive Tactical Mag system and it looked nice because it doesn't modify the feed system.

Please provide feedback on reliability

Will be working on that shortly. The kit was the receiver and parts needed for the conversion. I though about going that rout too and I have no issue Ad Tac but it came down to I didn't have a host Mossy for it and With the Black Aces I could build one from the ground up.

Other than that I like that I can still use any hand guard I choose and more mag options at the moment. And how the mag sits closer and on the receiver then extended out. The only real thing modified is stock saiga mags. The rest is just swapping out parts from the kit.

I will hand it to Ad Tac that they have a more simplistic system and a longer track record with Knox out there too.

Heres a better pick with the drum, finished the fit work on it today and ran about 30 or so shells though it to function test it.

I take that back you do have to bevel the barrel a little but its nothing that should affect switching out back to a stock shotgun
