Anyone here dealt with savage warranty dept?
I have a savage 11 7mm WSM and Ive been blowing primers like crazy lately. Its been happening with factory loads so Ive pretty much ruled out the possibility of it happening due to hot loads. Only thing I can think of would be a headspace issue causing pressure problems upon firing. I spoke with Savage's CS department and described my issue and they recommended that I send it in to have a look to see if the problem would be covered by their warranty.
What Im wondering is, has anyone out there sent a rifle to them under these circumstances and was it covered? Or was it considered normal wear and tear? The lady I spoke with said she couldn't give me a definitive answer until they see the rifle. I would just hate to spend the time/money on shipping if it were to end up not being covered. |

I needed to get a replacement stock for my son's Rascal .22 as the original poly stock was warped. Had the replacement in under a week from the time I shipped off the old one. Zero hassles.
They're good to go in my book. As to your original question, you're not going to know whether it's covered or not unless you ship it. If you're sure it's nothing you've done, send it in, you'll likely be fine.
