Talking Announcing the 2010 Golden Bullet N Cal Section Match July 23-25, 2010

The Richmond Hotshots will be hosting the 2010 Golden Bullet Northern California Section match. The match registration form is located at:

http://richmondhotshots.com/gbc2k10/gbc2K10reg.pdf.

We are planning for 8 stages plus chrono. It is currently a pending Level 3 USPSA match. You must be a member of USPSA/IPSC to participate.

I am your match director and this will be the official Calguns thread for the match. We are limited to approximately 150 shooters and the last couple of years we have sold out.

We will have dedicated Range officers on every stage and it's looking to be 221 rounds required. All divisions are recognized. Special categories are High Lady, Senior, Super Senior, Junior, Military, and LEO. More details as they become available (the closer we get to the match).

I wonder who will be the first entry

Does Richmond have any range requirements if you have never shot there before?

The requirements for the Golden Bullet is that you are a member of the USPSA. If you have not shot at Richmond before but have shot at other matches and you have a USPSA # you are generally good to go. The Golden Bullet is treated the same as any other registered event with any other discipline such as skeet (NSSA), Trap, etc. pm me if you have further questions if you like that were not answered. Also my email address is on the USPSA web site under the contact info.

Up to 14 now.. I seem to be getting an entry about every couple of days. Still finalizing stages, and there are discounts if you would like to volunteer to RO or help out. You need not be a certified RO to help out, we have a few other things to do besides run shooters. Again, if there are questions, pm me here or send me an email from the USPSA web page for the match.

I haven't shot a big pistol match please explain why it takes 3 days to shoot 8 stages with only 150 shooters? What am I missing?

on the app:

dedicated RO’s will shoot Friday, all other competitors shoot Saturday and/or half-day Sunday.

I think you can do it in one day, Saturday (if it's open squadding).. Vince?

What Berkim said..

In the past, when the dates were set to only be say a sat and sun, the RO's shot the match on a friday. Someone arbitrated that since the RO's shot on a non-match day, their scores would be disallowed since they did not shoot on an official match day. This is why the match is officially three days. The RO's get the first day to shoot it and are included in the final results, and the rest of the shooters shoot over the next day and a half. There are 12 squads of 12 shooters each.. and then the RO's which might be full or part time.

When you send in your application, you will be allowed to self squad online on the USPSA website starting April 30th. If you can put yourself in a squad that shoots all 8 stages on Saturday, more power to you. That is why I requested your email, so that I can send you your squadding login and information. I give the option to shoot two of three shifts depending on which squad you choose. Sat am-Sat pm, Sat am-sun am, or sat pm-sun am. Shooting starts at 8 am, break for lunch at noon, starts again at 1 pm, ends at 5. Sunday it runs 8a to noon.

The RO's will be dedicated to the stages shot.. If you want a discount on the match, being an RO is one way to gain experience and get a discount. We have 8 stages + Chrono for 3 different shifts needed.. Contact me in PM for details.

Actually, I don't think we have any wobble boards... we have swingers, disappearing targets, a plate rack, a Texas Star and a Polish plate rack but not all on one stage We will also have a classifier.

Up to about 30 entries now..

Expect your check to be deposited within about 2 weeks after I receive it. I usually pool about 15 or 20 of them. Around Apr 30th I will open up the Online USPSA squadding and those with apps in will have an email sent to them with their password for the site. Also if you check the Hotshots web page, I am posting first names, last initials, shooter #, division, and USPSA #'s when you click the link. It opens up an Adobe PDF file. Whenever I process a batch of apps, I update that info there. I last processed apps on Sunday 4/11/10. We are up to 29 so far.

We received Level 3 approval from USPSA and the stages are posted on the hotshots web page under the match information. I received a phone call yesterday from someone who had trouble downloading the match app. The document was created using Adobe Acrobat 9.3, You need Adobe reader 9.x to open it without problems. Older versions may work, but might not.

We are up to 50 registered shooters right now. This includes match staff. We still need volunteer RO's. You need not be a certified RO. We will, by USPSA rules, have a certified CRO on each stage. Please contact me via PM ffi.

Also, the Online squadding is to start tomorrow.. I'm not sure what time USPSA opens it up.. it might be up tonight at 12:01am.. The shooters who are already registered should have received an email with acct info already. Please check your spam folders since it comes from USPSA and not me directly. Yahoo/gmail/hotmal/etc may treat is as spam so it might end up there. If it's been a few days, email me from the USPSA website or pm me here and I'll see what I can do for ya.

Default Match is administratively locked

When I go to the link in the USPSA email, I see in bright red:

"Match is administratively locked"

What time will squadding open today?

You're right about that, Vince!

Gotta do a couple more safe penetrations to support my habit.

I still need to order a few 10-round mags for my .45 ACP, and I am also looking at a bulk buy of powder with a few other folks.

What's that ole saying..."Work hard, play harder".

In Christ: Raymond
