Default G29 acquisition

Recently acquired a G29! Sadly, the stock has been cut down, sanded and refinished. Looking to restore it as a fun project!

Flanked by my 1937 S/42 and my 1942 BNZ

Cool looking guns
I would be curious to see what it looks like after the restoration!

You might try out Fox Military for a replacement stock. He helped my Father and I out with a replacement stock for our sporterized K43. He might be able to help you out and the work he does is phenomenal.

Very nice, a worthy candidate for restoration. Seeing that the stock isnmatching, I would be looking for a donor forend or fabricating one. Contact Gunkraut, he's done grafts like that before.

I contacted fox military and he doesn't have an original G29 so he can't help me out on that one. I'll look into Gunkraut. I'm currently looking at VZ-24s to see if those will work (I've heard the G29 is somewhat based on the VZ-24)

An uncommon and worthy Mauser candidate for restoration. Best of luck in undoing bubba's hatchet job.

Absolutely, can be fixed. Anybody has a Czech or Polish donor stock?

I will probably replace the stock entire (or attempt to). I was notified the previous owner also took a big gouge out of it on the right side by the trigger.

This guy has VZ24 Fore end for splicing - whopping $18.

Also various mauser fore ends for $18.

Splicing isn't hard to do, it's a worthy task to repair the original stock.
