More .45

I finally believe I have my Dillon dialed in for my load, getting consistent OAL on finished product.

50 rounds 357 Magnum

From this first recipe:
  • 125 grain Montana Gold JHP
  • 6.0 grains IMR 700-X
  • Winchester Small Pistol Primer
  • OAL 1.595"
  • range brass
I adjusted it to
  • 125 grain Montana Gold JHP
  • 5.6 grains IMR 700-X
  • Winchester Small Pistol Primer
  • OAL 1.590"
  • range brass
Over a period of time, I figure the .4 grains saved would help me stretch out my stock of gunpowder. I should get a chrony to officially test the loads and see how compares with the specs listed on http://data.hodgdon.com

I think you are one of the few on here (that posts about it) that out reloads me- and that is saying something since I reload for me and my friends haha.

Reloading is a lot nicer when you have company!

I get the additional bonus that my 16 year old daughter loves doing it with me, so we get a lot of time to talk...usually about boys. I think she likes the fact that when reloading I'm a captive audience. I'll also let her put on whatever music she likes.
She likes reloading more than television, I'm a lucky guy. About to start another 2 hour session, so another grand tonight.

Started some ladders for a 65 grain sierra soft point boat tail. varying amounts of varget and CCI BR-4 primers.

will be my first bullet heavier than 55 grains through my savage bolt gun (which i now know to be a sub moa gun based on some 40 grain loads i worked up )

Three boxes so 750 rounds of 9mm 124 Berry's plated. 4.1 Titegroup (I really like Titegroup, measures nice, shoots well), 1.13 OAL. This load has really worked out well for me, not a single issue with a single round.

Another 600. Then I broke a decapping pin on one of those evil cases with that red ring around the old primer. Sealed or something. Got by me, sloppy so thought it was prudent to replace and then quit for the evening.

Be careful with distractions while reloading and just make sure you visually inspect every case after the powder is dropped in. I wouldn't want anything to happen to you with a double charge man........I'm glad you got your press and fully got into reloading though.

Thanks, man, and I am. Paranoid about it. Will never put a bullet feeder on the LnL, look down into every case as I place it. Any distraction, phone call, wife's sudden honey-do commands, always finish what I have on the shell plate first and always.

Had a great time loading for the first time in my new house!
The setup is still temporary but worked well.
I started at 9pm with cleaned and prepped mixed 223 brass and about 130 primed
I primed 200 more in about 30 min on my lee ss
Then finished off
200 x
55gr milspec fmjbt
30 x
55gr Hornady fmjbt
30 x
55gr Hornady soft point
Over 26gr of blc2
And
30 x 69 gr smk over 24 gr of ramshot tac

Everything done on my lee ss and I am actually very pleased with my lee ppm and safety scale combo! it was as accurate as I ever need.
Great session! Finished at 2am was at the range at 8am all rounds fired with out any trouble and accuracy was at least on par with factory ammo.

My first time ever reloading yesterday at the CGSSA Ventura County Reloading Club, made 48 - 9mm mixed case, 115GR RN, CCI #500 primers, 4.3GR of Bullseye. Haven't had a chance to test them yet but I love reloading, it is right up my alley.

No reloading today. Separated mixed range brass from yesterday's trip. I always seem to bring back more than I shoot. :/

Over the Holiday, I loaded about 600 .38 specials, to re-fill the ammo can.
Then,,,I finally set up my .223 dies and began loading the infamous evil rifle loads!!
Will test fire next week!

nice, i love bullseye, although for me bullseye @ 4.3gr tends to be a little weak for my glock and beretta for 115gr. i get better ejection with 4.6-7, and better accuracy, ymmv

Found my load for 223 with Ramshot TAC:
Hornady 55gr SPBT
24.0 grain Ramshot TAC
Wolf SRP Magnum
2.225 OAL

Testing out some 62 grain steel penetrators (green tips), 24gr was inaccurate so I'm testing 35.6, 35.3, and 35.0.

That's a huge jump and plus I don't think it will fit in the case.

Lol i think he meant 25 not 35.

Also, i found that the 62 gr steel cores to be VERY consistent in FPS vs the 55 gr. Not sure why....
