Mason, I really appreciate that. Thank you.
Hopefully I get the chance to be at the start date, just taking it step by step still. I'd love to hear other feedback or pointers if you'd be willing to PM me.

Of course amigo. CoCo is very much focused on PT. As one of the earlier posters pointed out though, they have declined on the yelling and stress inducing mind games. I saw that change around class 167 I think. It's all circular though. Haha, they probably ramped the intensity right back up. Love that academy. Great instructors especially the Pittsburg PD guys. They want you to learn because they want you to survive. It's not just an extra assignment for them. I could go on and on.
I hope you get the chance to share my enthusiasm about your academy experience. |

My BI said, Hey you still want a job and I said yes ma'am. Get ready to report to your academy in 4 days.

Did you go through the psych and medical?

Quick update, got the "conditional job offer" and have been moved to schedule the psych and medical exams.
They did not however let me know the dress for either appointment. Business casual? Or suit? Can anyone advise. Cheers!

nothing special. definitely not a suit and tie.
for the psych, I would just look decent. I would wear something you would wear to a $30/plate dinner place (not fancy, but not McDonalds). Youre talking with a psychologist and he is going to test you to see if youre mentally stable, give you scenarios, a 500 question exam, etc. for the medical, who cares. all youre doing is going to a doctor's office to check your vision, get a drug test, and hearing test. not a big deal. |

But I know for one or two appointments they actually dictated business casual, and for the medical wasn't sure if there may be a treadmill test etc. Also, thanks for the good input this whole time Mason. I really do appreciate it! And oh great Dr. Knuckles huh? Maybe he just liked you a little extra

Checking your *** during a routine physical? No, not the norm. I've done plenty of physicals, and that has never been standard. I'm also, 26, maybe that has something to do with it.
I didn't get the call until 2 months and a week after my oral boards, PFT, entry exam (all the same day). And that's with a relatively small dept. it happens. |

Psych eval. tomorrow.
A little nervous hearing negative stories about results, but I think it's like company reviews, people tend to voice negative results and the countless happy ones never make a peep.

Tell me about it! They told me to get in the gown and I started sweating!
But I came out unviolated. Thanks for checking in. Hope to have some more good news soon. We shall see.

Well I got a call today asking me to go in Thursday.
Not sure what for but I'll be suited up. Edit: Same email as my first "Final" Interview but I called to make sure it wasn't a scheduling mix up and they explained this should be the one I've been waiting for!

Won't feel like I've got it until after probation and FTO. Time to start with some of their suggested running exercises. I also want to thank everyone that chimed in in this thread or via PM. You've all given me great advise and insight along the way through this process. Now the real work begins.

Congrats.
Im actually shocked this thread ended in success, given the extremely low percentage of people who make it. I kept waiting for you to stop posting all of a sudden after you got bad news. Good work. Thats pretty awesome. |

I won't say I'm shocked because I don't know him personally, however I am impressed he got hired what seems the first time around. I just completed another PHS packet and had to attach an addendum to list all the agencies I have applied to hahaha.

yea, nothing personal against him. He just threw up a hail mary and put all his eggs in one basket (and posted every step from day one), and it just came together perfectly. Made it seem easy

Thank you Cpt. Mike!
trob didn't mean to disappoint you! Definitely did not feel easy in the least, that's for sure! Best of luck to all of those in the process currently. I've learned patience on a new level.

Hello everyone..i have been reading this thread over and over and just recently decided to join in. I am currently going through the BI with coco county and i have already turned in my PHS. My background isn't perfect because of a mistake i made as an 18 year old. With that said the case was dismissed through a diversion program. I am now 24 and i just dont know what to think .Am i doomed for life? This is something i have wanted to do for a long time and just want some insight on the whole BI.
