Default PO Box address question

Did a search and of course nothing showed up...

Both my drivers license and vehicle registration show a PO Box as my address,
will this be denied when/if I try to purchase a firearm?

(In between homes right now and living with relatives)

Thanks

It's going to be tough without a physical address. Ask your relatives if you can use their address on your car registration. Go to the DMV or AAA, pay I think $18 for change of address fee, get a printout.

Both DMV and USPO require a physical address when you get a DL or PO Box, so they probably have your old address on record. You need to change it to your current one.

You can also fill out a renter's affidavit signed by both you and the landlord.

I've had a CDL with only a USPO PO box. I did not have nor give DMV a physical address.

A renters affidavit can be considered a legal document, I pay no rent, or any bills at my current residence. I literally bring nothing to the table. lol
(Wife and I are saving up to purchase a house but it will be a while)

if your DL/ID does not have your current physical address on it, federal law requires you to have .gov-issued document with your current physical address on it.

That is separate from CA laws requiring PoR for handgun purchases.

it doesn't have to be a DMV-issued document, just some .gov-agency-issued document that has your name and current address on it.

As a FFL I can not take a PO Box as ID or a POR. You must have a physical address on your ID used to purchase. A utility bill should have a address on it for the service even if it has a PO Box for mailing. I would get a CA ID card with your address on it or get a new CDL and vehicle registration. You can do a address change to your current address and print the address change showing the change. As for the Proof of Residency that must also have a matching addres but that can be a rental agreement for your current address. Just every time you move you will need to change your address with the DMV.
