Default New handgun owner. Glock 23 Gen 4 FDE from EBR Works

I finally picked up my handgun from Jail today!! Now time to call up Serge and pick up 1k rounds of 40S&W and practice!! I would like to thank Michelle and Michael at EBR Works for their great service and help! I highly recommend them! If they don't have what you want, I am sure they can get it for you!

I paid 714.40 Tax, DROS, SSE Fee, Hand Gun safety test fee, everything. came with 3 high cap magazines which are rebuild kits since were in California, as well as 2 pieces to make the grip a little bigger (Don't know what they are called). a Brush and a plastic rod to clean the gun with the little cloth things.

I was told by a friend that I needed to break in the gun. He said I had to clean the gun every 100 rounds for the first 500-1000 rounds, and I have to use high grade ammo. Is this true?

Congrats, we all know the feeling of a new gun, so we can share your happiness.

However, I am not a fan of glock.

Congrats..!....

Glocks don't need a break-In period so just run it.

Clean as desired. No oil or grease around the firing pin channel.

Have fun.!

If you're getting another G21 get a GEN4. Incredible weapon.

Clean it, Grease it, Shoot it. (enjoy it)

Leave the coppery stuff on the underside of the slide alone. In fact, use it as a guide for your Marine grease application.

Dry-fire it a few Hundred times to smooth out the trigger. Then, put a dab of grease on the end of the trigger connector bar at the back, where it contacts the incline plane.

And when you do shoot it, hold it like a raw egg - don't crush it, don't drop it, and squeeeze. This will help w/ Glock-Left.

G23 Gen4's are Outstanding pistols.

Nice, I am a fan of the 23. Have not jumped into the gen 4's yet. I am sure I will at some point. But for now sticking with the 3's.
Here's my DE gen 3 23.

With my 22.
