Can you push the exposed part of the clip with your finger?

Can the part you made from a computer slot cover be rotated out of the way? As the above poster asked can you push the catch in with your finger? If yes to either then the answer to your question is no. A better solution IMO would be something like that with bent edges that would fit around the boss so that rotation is impossible until the screw is backed out far enough. It should also be longer to cover the other part of the catch.

Yeah, get something other than that card slot cover and make sure it's a bit longer to cover the entire latch.

This is my opinion.
If you have any mag lock, stock lock, or any device to make your gun compliant with CA AW laws, you should make it so that compliance item cannot be removed with anything that a cop carries on his tool belt.
Most cops are good people, but there are some who would mess with something to throw you in jail. Trust me, I've seen what happens when mag locks "fall off" (tamper with by arresting LEO's)and it ain't pretty.
If that button needs to be depressed to unlock that stock, I would remove that button and replace the spring with a solid piece of plastic so it cannot be manipulated in any way. Or maybe drill a hole and drive a roll pin through it and put a small amount of epoxy on there. If some ill intentioned LEO tries to remove an epoxied roll pin he gonna leave marks and any credibility he had right there for all to see.

I really don't want to butcher this thing or pin it. The slot cover is just a proto-type/templet. The latch cannot be pressed all the way in with a finger. How about paracording over the button and latch with something over the button and under the cord?
Thanks guys

It's really up to you and what you trust your freedom to.
You won't butcher it if you use a button block on the inside of the button. I did it all the time with SCARs and various other folding stock guns.

Thanks guys for the button block idea, I appreciate it

All I did was cut a small piece of all thread to stop the button from being pressed and it can't be seen.
