Favorite? I can say the one I do most is bulk Hornady 55gr FMJBT with 25.5gr Varg. I load these by the hundreds for taking friends out and don't care about having the hottest or most accurate. I do several other loads for myself, but in much smaller quantities

27gr Varget under a 62 grain SS109, seems just like an M855 actual (in my A2 AR) and goes through steel plates just the same...

Because the case is really full, I use the same charge under M193 projectiles, and these are cheaper, so I shoot them more.

(BTW I did work up to that...)

The 40 grain Nosler BT Lead Free bullet, 21.5 grains of RL-10x, Remington 7-1/2BR or Federal 205M, Winchester case. 3100 fps +/-. Shoots .2's in Pac-Nor 24" 1:9" polygonal barrel, Savage bolt. Shoots .5"-.75" in Colt M-4 20" H-Bar Elite but slower around 2900 fps. Great ground squirrel load.

Barnes 50 grain Varmint Grenade over 22.5 grains of Rl-10x. Same accuracy as above.

55gr Hornady bulk FMJBT over 27.5gr WW748 (both are cheap to buy) OAL at 2.235"

69gr SMK over 25.0gr Varget (both are expensive) OAL at 2.250"

1st recipe is for bulk loading and general blasting use but does get me around MOA or slightly better in all my AR's.

2nd recipe is for precision at distance match use only.

As usual, I do not recommend just duplicating the powder charge specified by anyone, reduce by at least 5% and work it back up safely in YOUR rifle. Both of these recipes are near the max you would want to use and could be unsafe to just use as is without careful testing.

I would recommend taking at least .5gr off either recipe if you just want to dupe something and go shoot. If you shorten OAL at all, reduce charge even further.

I'm loading 26.2gr of 748 with bulk 55gr FMJBT and get an accurate no high pressure signs round.
