took a while but finally cleaned them up. Gosh they're filthy, the importer must have gotten them for 3 beads and a beer per crate..
One needed a new stock real bad,(old one wasn't original and just about broken in half) so i got one at clearview investments for $30 shipped. stock was solid bu also needed a refinish. Refinished it without taking all the dents and scrapes out, so its issued military look remains. Shot the one with the worn blueing after a triggertune. Target shows some standard .123fmj being on target but spraying a bit at 50 yards. Then on that sam target 5 shots using semi- handloads (pulling the 123 grain bullet, lowering the powder charge to 22.25 grain of the same powder and placing a .312 hornady 150 grain spire point over that charge) Wonder what the pretty one will do, as the worn one has a great bore, but the pretty one seems to be just about unfired and the replacement stock fits perfectly.. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Nice man, I have pics of the one I bought from you, but I still have not received my stock from clearview yet, though I think it would be functional without the *new* stock it still has a few cracks.... My target might not look as good as yours either but thats not the rifles fault ha.... ill probably go out on tuesday wednesday or thursday. The range I go to is indoors and only at 25 yards :-D

There are many outdoor ranges though: Angeles, Burro, Lytle Creek, Oak Tree Gun Club, Raahauge's...probably half a dozen others I'm forgetting. All have the same rules about magnetic ammo though. Have fun! |
