2013 California Bill INDEX THREAD - look here to find the Calguns threads about bills
This is a bit earlier than I had planned to create this thread, but the legislature was in session this week, for a day.
Let's use this thread as an index to the bill threads here on Calguns - find them, start a real thread, post a link to the thread here.
'Real thread' titles need to be specific:
2012 -- the year introduced, so when someone necroposts in 2013 we know the bill is not current
AB or SB ###
Topic of the bill
So, "SB 124: 2011 DeLeon Ammunition Bill" has all the info in the title. (The colors are here just to identify the parts - nobody should use them, unless they think it's fun or something, but they won't appear in color on the forum page.)
Discussion on the bills, status updates, etc. should go in the specific bill threads.
Bill threads should have a link to the bill page, not just the bill text as introduced - since the bills get amended, and the bill status is at the bill page link.
the Beginner's guide to reading bills andLegislative calendars and daily files available at this page: http://www.legislature.ca.gov/the_st...schedules.html Must download the .pdf and search.
As of Dec 5, 2012, the 2013 Calendar is not available.
Bills and links to threads
2013 SB 47 - Yee, Assault Weapons
2013 CA AB 48 - Skinner/Ammiano, Magazines
2013 CA SB 53 - Deleon/Yee Ammunition purchase permits
2013 CA SB 108 Yee Firearms: lending and residential storage
2013 CA SB 127 - Gaines Firearms prohibition mentally ill
AB 169 - Unsafe Handguns - Dickinson
AB 170 - Bradford - Assault weapons and .50 BMG rifles
AB 174 - Bonta - Weapons: grandfather clauses. // March 19 - amended, no longer a gun bill //
AB 180 - Bonta - Ammunition. // March 19 - Amended, allows Oakland to pass restrictive firearms registration and licensing laws //
2013 CA AB 187 Bonta Ammunition Tax // March 19 - Amended Now 10% tax on retail ammunition sales //
2013 CA AB 202 - Donnelly - School security: School Marshal Program
2013 CA SB 140 Leno - Amend budget to allow DROS funds for APP enforcement
Once again, we're in CA Bill Season.
There is no value at all complaining or analyzing or reading tea leaves to decide what these bills really mean or actually do; any bill with a chance to pass will be bad for gun owners.
Let us simply oppose them all - write, call, attend meetings with legislators and tell them they're wrong.
The details only count after the Governor signs the bills.
Not a lawyer, just Some Guy On The Interwebs.
