Being bit is an understatement. I now find myself scheduling everything around matches. The wife is going to strangle me soon....

You know when you have arrived.... They no longer ask "Are you going to shoot this weekend?" to "Where are going to shoot this weekend? and what time do you think you will be home?"

Website is http://isishootists.com. The IDPA match is the fourth Saturday of every month. You will need a gun, holster, three mags or speed loaders (if a revolver), a carrier for two mags or speed loaders, at least 100 rounds of ammo per gun, eye and ear protection, and a cover garment that completely conceals the gun and spare ammo with your arms held straight out parallel to the ground.

Match starts at 8:30 but you can show up any time up to at least 2pm and shoot. Cost is $28 per. The matches are very fun, the people are great and very noob friendly.

Yes, you sure can. Single Action .45s are actually in their own division titled CDP, so you will be shooting against other 1911 type guns with limited magazine capacity.

You might be better off with 8 rounders though. Could save you a reload on same stages.

Yes, or 8 rounders. However, if you start with 7's, you must stick with 7's. Another quirky thing about IDPA is you can run your Glock 21 in CDP but must download to 8 rounds.

You can? I thought it was only single action (cocked and locked) handguns of the .45 variety.... I guess I should revisit the rule book.

No, just a .45acp of no more than 8 rounds, maximum weight limit and fit the box. You might have been thinking of USPSA Single Stack, 1911 only.

And because the power floor in IDPA is division based, you can run your G21 .45acp in SSP with a 230 grain bullet going only 544 fps! In CDP a .45acp 230 grain has to go 718 fps to meet the floor...
