Default Black Knobby thing

Yes it is a red dot sight. A Trijicon. Only for daytime use though (As if the Elcan wasn't enough). It will barely clear the hood of the CNVD.
Although this is a night time rifle. During the day the CNVD would be put away and the Elcan would be used to acquire targets. The red dot is for close quarters, kind of a nice overkill.

Crikey, you'd need a platoon to guard that rifle.

Just curious, maybe I am not understanding the law to the letter or your specific set up and how it applies to this. Maybe you can help me out here, I've been kicking around a similar set up in my mind but have always hit a road block with this.

468. Any person who knowingly buys, sells, receives, disposes of, conceals, or has in his possession a sniperscope shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000) or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Oooo! I get a log book!!!! can my first entry be "Thursday, November 22, 13:36 Some *** hole with a keyboard responded to my post"

Last time I checked Calgunners helped each other out. I obviously admitted my own confusion regarding the thermal/NV penal code. Is it really that hard to believe I want a similar set up but don't know all of the options/loop holes?

Why are you taking offense? I was pointing out what I thought was a legal way to justify the equipment, and trying to be funny by quoting a possible entry in the logbook. You thought I was calling you a Fluffy-Backed Tit Babbler? (That name just cracks me up)

This thread nails it: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=341895

The key is the use of an illuminator while night scope is mounted on rifle.

My colt 604, just got in my new mag release from HEATNBEAT, he makes quality parts for retro ARs. Plug for him, he makes the horizontal pattern mag release for the retro builds.

If I remember correctly, it comes in right around 6.2 lbs. That's with a loaded 10/30 Pmag, sling, and no bayonet.
