Default range in banning closed

Shooters attempted to go shoot at the range in banning the one off old idywild road. The old aqua duct area. It appears to be closed. There are big rocks blocking the road on the final approach to the range. No signs are posted though.

Is this the burned area due to the alleged tannerite fire a couple weeks ago?

Yes the burned area up in the mountain, dont know anything about a tannerite fire but there are signs that the area was on fire recently, i was just up there on the 10th and the road is blocked, dont know who controls access to that area (BLM or county) but some one dosent want shooters up there it looks like.

This is sad because ive been going up there for YEARS! if you drive up the road about another 15 minutes there are legal spots to shoot as well.

Drive around the rocks? Use the rocks as target practice?

Is it even legal to block a state road like that? Is it a state road?

The road he is talking about closed is a path off to the side of the "old idyllwild road" sort of an "exit". But if you continue on the road for abotu 15 minutes or so there are lots of legal places to shoot and yes it is posted legal.

Yep, that's the spot... I think it was more like 4-6 weeks ago.
