Very good, we need more pistol shooters for the matches. Glad you picked a Buckmark, post a picture when you can.

I think I'm going to try and hit the local range for some pistol & rifle rimfire action tonight. See how I score for my first go round.

I'm going out to Oak Tree tomorrow, after the Ontario Gun Show, with the wife. Looking forward to see how the new Buckmark does.

I am new to all this so please forgive me for any lame questions:
What is meant as "Off Hand"? Does it mean not from a "Bench Rest" while standing?

If you are guessing its a good guess. Standing without a rest.

Wait...that's rife. I'm sure pistol is the same.

Off hand is not using a rest for the pistol. Sitting/standing and only holding the pistola in one or two hands is fine just not resting. Good luck with your new Buckmark and shooting. Hope to see your targets.

Just got back from shooting with the wife and got an 82 on my first set and a 68 on my second. Probably not worth the pics with scores like that.

Shot with a Ruger 10/22 and tech-sights.

This is a hard target to shoot with a pistol, I can hardly see it at 15 yards. Keep shooting and posting those targets.
Did you notice that you were more nervous shooting a match target than just practice targets ?? Shooting the match targets makes me work a lot harder on the fundamentals of target shooting, it's great practice.

I'm going to tune up my old Marlin 60 today for the 25 yard scoped match. I never get to shoot rifles much, so we will see how we do.

I kinda rushed on my targets. Almost didn't pull these targets out but I'm glad I did, now I have a score to improve on.

Excellent post. That's why we do this. I used to shoot at barns in hope that I would hit it 2 out 3 times. Now I shoot at 1" cirlces at 100yds and 1/2" circles at 50yds. Usually hit them 4 out of 5 times when my rifles cooperate.

Nice izzy, looks like you had a great day at the range. Awesome job on the match. I am just finishing the trigger work on the old Marlin 60 so I can post some rifle targets this weekend.

So I finished the trigger work and ended up with 4 1/2 lb smooth break with a little bit of creep, but it is a ton better than it was. Also mounted a 3-9 Barska scope that I had laying around. this tube fed Glenfield-Marlin 60 has a 15" rate of twist and it is a 22" micro grooved barrel, any idea what ammo would work the best with this combination ?????

I have good luck with Federal Bulk from Wally World for hunting ground squirrels with my Marlin 60, also American Eagle 38gr HV HP. If it will cycle it I would suggest some CCI Std Vel for casual target work. Maybe even some Wolf MT or SK Std + for targets. I had nothing by misfires with Winchester 333 and 555 bulk but could have just been my rifle.

I printed some targets and went to Discount gun mart in San Diego, they told me commercial targets only. They said printer paper shreds more and isnt as fire resistant as commercial targets. They also admitted that they make a little extra money selling the targets. So I cant compete now ... but not like im that good anyways lol. Maybe next month ill go to another range and try again.

Try # 2 @ 25 yards, Ruger 10/22 w Tech-Sights.

Low score of 45 standing (not shown). High score of 108 standing leaning on the bench.

Much better than last time and I know what I need to do to improve next time. I used a .22 round to check & make sure my hits are scored correct, let me know if I am doing something wrong.

OCTOBER 2012 MATCH I went to the outdoor range, the weather was nice with a little breeze. I need some more practice with the rifle and the model 41, witch I hardly ever shoot. Still had a good time.

S&W Model 41 at 25 yards with a bag
Marlin 60 25 yard scoped

A possible solution is to use Card Stock to print the targets. Perhaps the range will accept those. Its much heavier than regular paper. Available at WalMart for around $4 for 150 sheets. Might want to ask Discount Gun Mart before buying. The .22 does make much nicer holes in the card stock as apposed to regular printer paper. Bummer that you couldn't shoot.

I did shoot, but just not the online comp targets. I just bought a couple NRA pistol targets from them for 40 cents each.

BTW, I was shooting my new CMMG .22lr upper. Lots of fun. I was going to get a regular 5.56 upper but Im glad I didnt. I would have had to wait 4 months for the upper and I wouldnt have been able to get 1000 rounds for 40 bucks. lol.

If you still have them post the targets anyway. I wont' be able to count them as I don't want to open the door to other targets but nice to see what others are shooting.

Great shooting as always, November match will have the 100yd irons re-instated by popular demand as well as some different 25 and 50 yd iron targets, similiar but different.
