I went to college with the Marine holding the Skittles. This photo was taken in Iraq, early 2003 and was in the New York Times.

My work station, 213th ASHC, 1st Aviation Brigade, RVN circa 1970.

1st Infantry Div. (Big Red One) patch cut into the jungle between Lai Khe & Cu Chi, using Rome Plows. Could only be seen from the air.

Playing B-17, over BearCat, in support of the Australian Army. Pic was taken by the Aussie co-pilot, of the gun-ship, coming in behind us to ignite the fuel after it smashed thru the triple canopy jungle.

I have to say this always had inspired me as both a civilian and a veteran. I am also currently reading "Flags Of Our Fathers", an excellent history of the flag raisers:

Not sure how epic they are, but here's some I took back in the early 90's.

Just some Training rounds: TPDS-T M910 but the TP-T M793s were more accurate.

Some of these photos may not be epic but they are personal photos that I wanted to share from my time in Afghanistan.

AC-130 Gunship, that is just bad *** in its self!

Landed with damage, not sure how/what but was crazy to see

We were attacked and a rocket went through a connex and ricocheted/bounced off the ground and caused this damage. Luckily no one was sitting there...

Russian AN-124 and our C-5 side by side. Dont ever see that happen so pretty cool pic. Both forward knelt and visor up.

Australian Kiwi's armored vehicles. We helped them off load a 747 with our loaders, very cool people!

This was the piece of a rocket that caused the damage in my post above. Just in case you were wondering what it looked like...

Air drop bundles being loaded for those out of missions or a FOB with no runway/small runways.

2 Helo's being loaded with ammo on the hot cargo pad with nice sunset in the background.

Interior of a C-17 packed tight with brand new MRAPs.

Howitzer!

Nope, it's a Challenger II, a British tank. Thing is though, they're not actually photos - they're computer generated. I know a few people that are really good at that sort of thing.
