I am pretty low on cash and was looking into buying an Eotech 512 but was told Eotech is discontinuing the 512 and their other units that use AA batteries. Will they be bring something to replace them or will we be stuck buying the units that use "N" batteries?

The link you provided is for a model that takes the N batteries. Don't know why they would discontinue AAs models since they are very popular
they also have the kind that takes CR123 batteries Last edited by Teletiger7; 11-13-2007 at 11:45 PM.. |

They still list the AA versions on their web site:
http://www.eotech-inc.com/lawe_hwsmodels.php Considering the much higher battery life, I can't imagine they'd discontinue them. All they show on their site is N and AA; I don't remember any CR123 versions, but they may be out there. |

Not that I know of and I am an EO Tech dealer. The 512 and 552 should still be readily available and as far as I have been told are still in production.
Sometimes they are harder to get as EO tech does batches of different sights so the lead times can get a little long. Chad

Kinda offtopic:
I like CR123, only 80 cents each for Lithiums. While AA lithiums will run you $2.50 each. Lithium is the only way to go, not only do you get 2 times the battery life, but shelf life is also better at 10 years, and lithiums will not drain in cold weather like regular akaline batteries do. BTW, What the heck are N-cells? |

Smaller, shorter. They're about the height of a CR123 and thinner than a AA.
