Carlos: It looks like there are 23 matches that I would like to attend next year. Obviously if the match will NOT allow NRA records to be set I would NOT shoot. So, what the plan to make them official. FYI most clubs give cheap metals, dog tags, placks, etc. for prizes. Is the anything I can do to help you make this happen.

Hi Carlos,

I would like to someday try to compete in your long range matches. Do you have any training sessions planned for the near future for people looking to get into the sport?

The Matches are Official and Registered, they always have been and will be going forward.

In addition I am working with the NRA to make sure that the Range 103 programs in 2012 allow for for registering national records for individual strings of fire in addition to the the aggregate scores.

Gau17,

In general you can use your string of fire in the LR and MR matches as you wish.

There is no requirement to turn in a score card. Many folks come out to the matches and use their turn on the firing line to practice, get zero data, get load data, etc...

We very much want to encourage new shooters to join us at the matches. Don't let the "match" label keep you from coming out!

Thanks Carlos! Maybe I'll muster enough courage to come out on Feb 4th.

January 28 103 HP XTC 80 Note #1
January 29 103 MR 3x600

Can anyone explain the course of fire tp me for these two matches? I'd like to attend at least one of them

never mind...found it

Governed by NRA rules, High Power Rifle has four (4) different stages of fire:

1.Slow fire standing at 200 yards
2.Rapid fire sitting or kneeling at 200 yards
3.Rapid fire prone at 300 yards
4.Slow fire prone at 600 yards
This course of fire is also known as the National Match Course of Fire (or NMC).

The fact that there are three distances in which the course of fire is shot at, has resulted in the nickname “Across the Course” (or XTC) to be used when referring to High Power Rifle competitions.

I am looking for a ride to the match on Saturday or both matches if possible. I am in San Diego and I will help out with gas money.

Please email me at brianjwebb2000@yahoo.com

Thanks

Hey Beavis,

I'd repost this request in it's own thread so you get maximum attention.

Best of luck,
