I have a couple of questions on this.

1. Will the link work anytime? Meaning can I click it whenever and CalGuns will get the donation?

2. Is there a way to see how much has been donated via the link? Just curious.

Since I have learned about this I have made many purchases including one tonight. I too wish we could see how much is donated.

All, just wanted to offer a quick update and let you know that all of the purchases you've made at Amazon through our link has raised just a hair under $1,500 this December for CGF's litigation, education, and defense of innocent gun owners. That's just outstanding!

We have 4 days left to make December a $2,000 month. By my calculations, we'd need about 80 items purchased and shipped by or on Dec. 31 to get there. The numbers are telling me it's totally possible, so if there's anything you need, want, or just gotta have, be sure to shop at Amazon by first clicking this link.

Call and ask them to cancel the order if it hasn't been shipped. Then do it over from the link.

Have you guys asked Kest to email this out to every registered member? I don't think everyone knows about it yet and think you would have more than $1500 if everyone did.

Used the link today. Hope you guys see some cash on your end. I would also recommend that there be a logo link on the homepage and a sticky made from this thread. Let the members know!!

Thanks CALGUNS!!

Yup, perhaps a drop-down menu in the same fashion as is on CGF.org where the "Donate to CGF" link is at the top of the page.

Amazon has a performance-based system, with a higher percentage for more items shipped in a period, and some types of products having a higher rate than others. The percentage caps at 15%.

Something about this should be made into a sticky.

BTW, I was trying to order something from Optics Planet. During the checkout, it offers several ways to pay, one of them through Amazon. Do you know of a way to use the link at checkout?

Unless you purchase the product at the Amazon site (I believe Optics Planet sells their stuff on Amazon also) there's not way I know of to associate the purchase to the CGF code.

Is it just me, or when you check out, does it not show any sort of donation on your invoice/total?

It won't; the calculations are made on the back end and post-shipment.

The referral link itself is good until and unless Amazon cancels the program. We're considering it a permanent resource.

FWIW before Christmas I was looking for the Amazon link on the NRA's "Shopping" link on their homepage and found the link now says "Store" and could not find anything re. purchasing thru Amazon. Fortunately CGF started their program w/Amazon, so I did some Christmas shopping thru that.

Just spent another $250. Even if, given the "composition" of my purchase and amount, CGF gets "only" 5%, that's $12 CGF otherwise would not have gotten. With tens of thousands of CGN members, those little 5%s can add up pretty fast and help CGF a lot.

Bookmarked the linked Amazon page.

Maybe CGN could add to the top of ALL their pages -- in some distinct color -- a cumulative donation amount and/or the previous month's total donation amount w/built in link from CGF to Amazon?

That would be: (1) a reminder for all of us to use that link, (2) it would be a motivator seeing how much we've helped (showing that it is worth taking a few seconds to track down that link vs just ordering), (3) would be an introduction to the program for CGNers who, somehow, don't know about the program, and (4) give them a quick way of getting to that link.

I have the link set up as a favorite on my tool bar. I see it every time the browser is opened and throughout the day.

First place I go to looking for something to buy before heading over to other sites (preferably CA businesses).

Does CGF still get the funds if the items were in my cart before I clicked on the referrer link?

The present answer is, "I'm pretty certain that's so." The better answer is, "I'll have to check with Amazon and confirm."
