Here's my Mossberg 500 I got out of jail last week. Not much in the way of tacticool, just functional. I swapped out the 14" LOP stock for a 12" LOP Hogue stock. It's almost too short now, but at least my short arms can work the pump much better. I may swap the Hogue forend back for the stock one because I think it looks better.

I added a basic Surefire G2 light and used the Elzetta mount. Great mount although the tolerance was tight. I had to really crank down the forend nut to make enough room. On the first go around the pump wouldn't come far enough to engage the latch/slide release and you could rack the gun at will (hey, just like the movies ).

The only other additions were a couple of Uncle Mike's sling swivels.

I mounted the setup right to the side of my bed using the Shot Lock. This thing is decent and beats having to remove a standard gun lock any day. I can work the lock combo in the dark and have the gun out in about 3 seconds. I ordered the Shot Lock from Costco and saved $20 off the direct price. This keeps the kids safe without making it a chore to get to the gun.

So... I guess I'll just mention that your sights are on backwards. And you also have three different foregrips.

It'd be interesting to see people explain their train of thought when they post their builds.

It has ladder covers, so it isn't a cheese grater forend.

Funny.... I don't see them installed in that pic. And yes, I am very familiar with rail covers.

I have a question about lights:

I've never mounted one on my Mossy 500 so I don't know whether or not to go with one. What do you guys prefer? Pressure pad or pushbutton? Why?

I just pull the trigger. Even my wife can shot it with no problems. I hear people say I'll get sick of those rails but I have been shooting that shotgun for years and it hasn't happened yet. I thought about a hogue forend when it did get old maybe but I haven't had any great reason to do it yet. If it happens it will be because I just get the urge to change something.

My Western Auto Revelation 310A 12 gauge. Same thing as an old Mossberg 500 with a "C-lect" selectable choke.
Hogue stock and fore end, Mossberg heat shield, G,G&G front sling attachment, reblued it and repainted receiver.
