Default delay delay delay

I think this is my first post. I got a delay notice from dept of justice on a gun that I have been waiting for. I believe that it has to do with the history of the gun. I purchased it at a reputable gun dealer. Do they not check into this type of thing before trying to sell something? I have been waiting for a month.

I dont think there is really an answer to this question but I thought this thread was a good place to whine!

Linus who used to work for a traffic signal equipment supplier near the airport?

If so, small world.

Although not a handgun per se, it is a handgun caliber rifle (.357 Marlin 1894C Lever Action) I am waiting 10 days for.

Normally, the 10 day wait doesn't faze me...but since I've been searching for a .357 Lever for a few years, this wait is killing me!

Lever action rifles have always intrigued me as well. Are there any still in production or is this more of a collector's piece?

48 hours left. Does the store/dealer usually contact you to let you know it's good to go? Or should I just assume all is good if I don't hear from them? I bought it at Turner's Pasadena. Sorry for the "noob" question, first purchase.

Nope, they won't contact you. However, You have to wait EXACT 10 days before picking up your firearm.

They (Turner's) usually state, down to the minute, when you can pick it up. Check your paperwork.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. They did give me the time (to the minute) that I could pick it up. I wasn't sure if I had to wait to hear from them since some people have said it can take longer.

If the gun was an in stock item, you should be alright. I'd call to confirm if you're more than a few minutes drive from the store anyway.

I shot the 8 3/8" version at the Sports Fair over the weekend. Not as bad as expected. Then again I believe the boolits were Hornady 300 gr FTX. I am sure the heavier variants will be more "fun". Whatever the case, my wallet will surely give out before my bones.

Lever actions are still in production by Marlin and other companies, such as Henry and Rossi. But, no longer in production by Winchester, unfortunately.

Mine will be a shooter. I've searched high and low for a .357 Marlin or Winchester. Now that I found the Marlin, my reward is to shoot it!

I've seen quite a few big-bore Marlins and Winchesters for sale, but very rarely do I see .357s. And when I do see one, it is oftentimes twice the price of a big-bore model.

A NIB Winchester would probably be a collector's piece. But, if I ever get my hands on one, I'm going to shoot that too!

You hang in there! A few hundred miles south of you, also on 6/13, a few minutes before high noon, I'll bring home my new baby LB-P2; I'll hang in here! Let's survive the rest of the coming weekend...

Picked mine up 4 hours ago..now I have to wait another 2 days till I can try it out, LOL.

Sick thing is; while I was waiting in line I was looking and thinking "now why didn't I spend a little more and get that one"?

I was even thinking about asking if I could exchange or return this one..I don't think it's that easy though. I do not feel like waiting an additional 10 days right now.

It OK. In this case, you don't need to wait 30 days or 30 years.

Only 4 more days for me! I wonder what there doing with it.

Did you just get the ticket? Or was it a FTA? The reason I ask if you planned on fighting it, that shouldn't be an issue with the DOJ.

Agreed. This is complete BS and extortion by the state.

Where in the PC is a traffic ticket... or even an FTA, defined as a prohibiting offense?

This sounds like another job for the CGF/CRPA.
Unless it's a felony or a prohibiting misdemeanor, it should have zero bearing on your ability to purchase a firearm.
