Default My 10/22. Picked it up today.

I saw the sticker at a local coffeeshop last weekend and couldn't resist taking one. Does it legally allow me to purchase hi-cap magazines?

3 minutes later...

I broke out the Snap-On Dale Jr. Ratcheting Driver and got down to business.

I figure if I ever have to shoot anyone for breaking into my home that sticker will help me in court when I am inevitably sued.

Not sure why you'd ever want to shoot anyone with a 10/22. Not an ideal home defense weapon.

But, congrats on your purchase, great rifle to learn on and plink with.

I already have an ideal home defense weapon. A 120 lb. German Shepherd/Malamute mix who loves me with all his heart!

Couple that loving beast with a 12 gauge shotgun or a nice, reliable pistol, and you're good to go.

Nice 10/22, but why did you take it apart?

its not taken down really that far

it could be taken down for a vast variety of reasons
cleaning
inspection
learning how to take it down
parts replacement

You should upgrade to a Green Mountain barrel while you have the thing apart

That's just what I do!

For the record it is back together and appears to function normally. After that pic was taken I drove out the pins from the receiver and removed the bolt. Yes, I was teaching myself takedown procedure.

Plan is to leave it stock for now and shoot a few thousand rounds through it before some work on the trigger pull, upgraded charging handle and mag release and then onto the Shooter's Ridge carbon fiber stock and the Volquartsen carbon fiber bbl. I may buy another one in the future and do all the tacticool mall-ninja stuff to it but I'll probably focus on getting a 1911, a Mossberg 500/590 (just starting to research what I want for a shotgun) and an OLL to build first

My friends and I were joking around about making a 10/22 a "CA Safety Rifle" by painting 1 inch diagonal yellow and black stripes on the entire stock, adding orange and red reflectors front and back and then designing funny warning labels to cover it with.

Unless you are LE (or have a license), nothing changes the legality of purchasing high-caps.
