Looks better like that on the Combat. Now you need to sell those ugly tan grips and get some wood ones for the black P220R. I have Roco grips on my P220R

My work gun... a 2001 model 220, purchased brand new in 2001 and now sporting plenty of holster wear.

Anyone recommend some good grips for the P220? How about some P220 mags and maybe a flashlight that would go with P220(mine doesn't have rail). [IMG][/IMG]

I really like my Hogue grips. I have the same issue as you do (no rail) and so I have the Insight Technology adapter rail (clamps to the trigger guard with two allen screws) and Insight M3 weaponlight. The picture is back on the last page, you'll see the rail.

+1 on the Hogue. For $15, you can't beat the rubber Hogue. As for the rail, I also have an Insight adapter on my W. German P226. Great little setup. If you want Alum grips, you could get the Hogue Alum grips or Sig original Alum grips. They are great and very aggressive. But they ARE Aluminum so if you carry it all day in the heat......might want to have some gloves on.
The P220 Elite has the G-10. IMHO, best all around grips. Good luck.

Thank you kindly sir.
You'll love the Elite. The "duck tails" are a great fit for my pals and they will outshoot me any day.

Those are nice p220s. Same with me man i want to buy a 1911 but i always end up getting a sig, just bought a p226 in 40s&w and next in line is a p220carry or a p229 in 9mm

See, you have been infected with the "SIGNESS".

Instead of the P229 in 9mm, why not just get the P228? Get the P229 in 40sw since the P229 have a thicker/wider slide that was specifically designed for the 40sw round.

Does the 220R have all the awesome of the 226? The 226 is just too wide for my hands but I wanna track down a 220R and fondle it. Maybe it's a better fit.

I have a 226r for duty an just bought a 220rST to swap to as my duty weapon. Can't wait!

And to answer the question above... The p220 is slimmer than the 226 but neither gun was built for small hands
