Default Browning HP .41 AE Conversion

I have a .41 Action Express conversion kit for a 9mm Browning Hi Power that I bought in the '80s, consisting of a barrel, spring, four magazines and four boxes of IMI ammunition. I've never used this, nor do I really intend to. I have a few questions with which perhaps some of you might help out.

1. Is there any collector interest in this conversion kit? (I see the factory IMI .41 AE ammo listed on GB for around $50 a box, but I don't see many selling.)

2. Would the .41 AE magazines (not maker marked, but stamped "MADE IN ITALY") work okay in a .40 S&W caliber Hi Power, or is the slight difference in cartridge diameter too much?

3. I know it is not legal to transfer these magazines in-state, but can I ship them if not banned in the destination state?

TIA for all help!

It is perfectly legal to disassemble those mags and sell them as repair/rebuild kits.

All of those mags are over 25 years old and must be wearing out by now.

The .41 AE is an orphan, and with the advent of the .40 Smith became obsolete.

I've never had the opportunity to use a .41AE mag in a .40, so this is just swag, but I'd believe that they would.

IIRC, the .41 AE mags were ten rounders.

My answers in bold above.

A BHP collector may have interest in the complete kit, and under that condition the set may bring in a decent price.

Default Thx!

Thank you for your responses. I didn't realize that the mags were ten rounders, have never broken them out of the wrap. Suppose I might have to toss this unit onto GB to see whether there is any collector interest in this stillborn caliber.

Default Hello

Hello, let me know if you're still interested in parting with your Browning .41 AE Conversion Kit.
