If you do not have the correct height, Bushmaster makes a taller front sight post.

Armalite ships what it advertises.
It's a 16" mid-gas 1/9" twist chrome-lined barrel.

Standard front sight is 1.94"
'F' marked front sight is 1.98"

These measurements are from the top of the barrel to the top of the sight (between the ears where the sight actually screws in)
The one that I just received measures at 1.953". (and no 'F' mark)

Stag FSB mounted on Bushmaster barrel measures 1.985" with F mark.
TacSol measures 1.985" no F mark.

just got my upper in. i went with the U15A4CB - M15-A4 CARBINE COMPLETE UPPER ASSEMBLY.

it has no front sight, has a gas block. do you know if it would be ok to attach the magul composite sights on the gas block as a front sight? i read somewhere on some website saying that these sights arent recomended on gas blocks... any one know anything about this?

its my first rifle. its just for plinking, so i'm not looking to go balls out. something to just get me going. thank guys

Chris of Addax Tactical did mention on this thread that Magpul does not recommend it.

I hear its not a good idea, they tend to melt. I went with the MI gas block sight on my wife's KISS rifle. You can see pics in post #36.

Yes - using a 3/4 open ended wrench - fairly easy.

I was asking to see if these are marked. My question had nothing to do with advertising bait-n-switch nor was I questioning Armalite's integrity.

So I take it these are Armalite unmarked barrels. That's all I was asking. I was told Armalite marks now and I wanted to know what those marks were.

Armalite answers fast when you ask them a question, based on my experience. But like I said, my barrel is not marked.
